DFW BS Thread : ********NEW MEET!! CHECK POST #1*******

We had a massive fire break out after a dump truck took out an electrical pole. The fire remained on the west side of 287, but burned about 100 acres.

Amazingly, no injuries were reported and the house on the property was untouched. It was a particularly calm evening (normally gusty in Rhome) and we are grateful for it. I was only able to intermittently snap a few photos from our front lawn as I was loading the truck and helping neighbors do the same.

This is the witness video of the accident. It jumped the median into oncoming traffic, exited via the on ramp, and hit the pole. Draw your own conclusions.

Still cleaning it all up, rims got back from powder coater. 96 bolts of beadlocks mounted. ATLAS showed up.

It has been pretty good. Went and got the trucks tires balanced and rotated at discount this morning. Then treated myself to lunch and then worked on the '65 Mustang project for a couple hours.

Very nice! Got any info on previous owners? Have a friend locally that had the exact same color scheme 350 for a while and he took immaculate care of it.


Current status of the 65 mustang tho.

We removed the engine last weekend so we can replace the freeze plugs on it, while it's also out, we are cleaning up the engine bay a ton.
While also... converting it to front disc bakes and dual bowl master cylinder, replacing front coil springs and shocks, some wiring stuff, new export brace, new fuel tank, and some misc stuff.

Nah no idea who the prev owners were but it looks like it spent its life in centex then Lubbock, where I got it from.

Yea, it is going to be a fun ride once we get everything knocked out, hoping to get a bunch done over the next two days. But will have to see.

 

Testing out some stuff with the new 4LoFab Bed Rack setup... got the light mounts ready to go, about to install the DECKED trax system for more tie down locations.

Getting the bed setup a lot sleaker.
