I scored a great deal on some used ones, but even brand new, they're just as competitively priced as the other brands when compared apples to apples. I think ADS is the only other that is a little higher priced but also well worth every dollar.

I considered some other brands and did a lot of reading. I know TW is a small segment of the market, but I was unable to find any problems or real complaints with Kings. I know a lot of people run Fox and Icon and are happy. Many said pick whatever color you like and buy those. Or, there's the whole digressive/progressive debate and "it's all in the valving". So, I narrowed it down by looking at the failures and negative reviews. Icon had top hat failures (I know they've since addressed the issue) and no longer services their own shocks, Fox has rust/corrosion issues, but nothing really bad about King that I could find. ADS was all pretty positive too, but more expensive than the Kings. Not a lot of info on SAW or Toytec and for the same price, King wins. Plus I really like the blue with my silver truck.

that's good info. I may do like you did and just do the fronts and keep my 5160s in the rear for now and upgrade those later

How do you like the 5160's? I've considered those so I have resi's front and rear, but not sure if I should just hold out for King rears with a shock relocate.

I am happy with mine they ride well and the extra travel is noticed, I think they were $375 for both and looks like king rears are running around $750 for rears. Might just spring and save for the matching rears

Get more stroke and step up to the PR2012-SS, I paid way less that $750 for way more shock.

So, $290 each plus $125 for the BAMF shock relocate kit puts this at $705 without install labor/welding. What else would be needed?

King is mostly more pricey as I believe they don't offer a 2.5 non resi in extended travel, only in mid. Are the the ones you got mid or extended? I also think the Fox rust issues are exclusive to the 2.5's, since they are steel vs. the alum 2.0's. I'm willing to bet a lot of those rust issues are also people in the rust belt, and also people who don't take care of their shit, or a combination of, lol. Either way, you got a great deal on your setup. If I come across a deal on some rear Kings, I'll holler at ya.

They're the extended, but no compression adjusters. It looks like maybe I could get those added when rebuilding. Gotta pay down some bills before making any other big purchases, but i wont pass up a good deal. I think tires will be next. I will probably go with another set of Hankooks but have also been looking at Goodyear MTR's.

Don't overlook the ST MAXX, they are great tires worth considering. Great traction, and low noise. Not sure how they are quiet, but they are.

You'd likely want to have a u bolt flip and shackle flip at the same time to take full advantage. Or 63" Chevy springs.
