Is it worth it to get sealed bearings? My bearings on both ends of the driveshafts are getting a little squeaky but I can quiet them down temporarily with WD40.

Cool, it still works just fine, and the WD40 worked all day Saturday. A bearing set is cheap, so just wasn't sure if it was worth the $15. I'll hold off for now. Still need to decide if I switch to a different body. Toyota Hilux and 4Runner are cool, but don't want to have the same as everyone else. I was thinking about the 66 Bronco with the full interior to keep the 12" wheelbase, but I'd prefer a Toyota. I've also thought about doing something odd, like a car body on the crawler frame.

try a lithium grease instead.. WD40 is a solvent not a lubricant. makes sense that it only solves the issue for a short time.

You’ll need something that coats the metal to avoid squeaks/rust.

Speaking from skateboard knowledge. I would imagine it’s the same concept

I just used what i had on hand and figured the water displacing qualities of WD40 helped when i was running it in the creek. I think I have some of that thick spray on white grease in the garage. I'll try that next time.

Maybe I’ll be there at 9 and bring some bearing oil to use?

    Maybe?

We can just make an oil pool to dive through before and after?

I'm doing the Boardwalk Ferrari Toy Run at 9:00am Saturday, but could probably head to Garland after that.
