Pair of AR44 axles on the way, scx10 getting a much needed refresh

 

Yeah i think im going to start buying brass parts for the trx... do it right. No more wheel weights...

 

Oh snap! we are going to have 3 brand new 2019 models in the mix!

 

Slaughter is going back to brushed... i have everything he needs but a cheap $12 motor.

 

Good luck, that shit adds up quick. Yeah Racing sells a kit for like $150 that has most of the parts available for the front. Brass bumper mount makes the servo easier to mess with.

 

Savox already got the bad servo back and confirmed they're sending a replacement. I think it hasn't even been a week since I put the request in.

 

Yeah I will deff be picking that up

 

Geez, I hope I don't have any issues with my Reef's. I'll move to Protek next time

$139 for the entire front end! This would allow me to take the weights out of my tires though.

 

All of these would be 500 grams or 1lb....

 

Shop around. As long as you don't mind waiting for the slow boat from China, all those parts can be found cheaper. There are also a couple different knuckles and portal cover designs with different weights on each. I think adding weight can be a slippery slope. Before you know it, you have a 15lb rig that can't climb on steep, low traction surfaces.

So i just got of the phone with Reefs and they said that one of the teeth on the gears had broken off and fallen behind the motor gear preventing it from turning. He then said that it was cause by a "special kind of hit", that he has dropped his rig from 8 ft and it was fine but when he gives it to his son he knows its going to break, and that its the driver really....whatever.

In the end he put all new gears in there and said its working fine and will be sending it back to me.

Then he went on to talk about how fast that was and that he has had other servos sent off for weeks and havent heard anything back... and then went on to say that if this happens again i can just buy the gears offline... So it sounded to me like i got my 1 free RMA and if it happens again i will need to buy new gears....

Oh and i have the conversation recorded if you are interested...

 

Replacement Savox is in transit scheduled to deliver on Friday. No lessons of wisdom passed on to me by Savox though.
