I've gone through every color on the Tamiya color chart. I'm still considering the rust/weathered look under a tan or green military style on the outside for the matte look, but that will take a lot of time, paint and patience. Of course the inventory at the hobby store may help to narrow down my choices.

lol. When have any of us really taken the time to paint up a really nice body?? We know we are going to end up beating the crap out of them anyway.

I know! That's why I'm debating spending for cans of copper, silver and black for the rust/metal look and then cover it all up with some other flat color. I'll end up with $75 of paint on my $13 lexan body. The stock TRX body looked cool for awhile with all the stickers and stuff, but 3 months later, they're all getting scratched and worn off.

We're getting there. I think all the weight down low helps it to land on the tires after the inevitable flips and rollovers

Im talking about putting a couple days into 1 body. Not all the time we have spent painting bodies... And Jim is talking about adding rust and such, i feel like that would be challenging.

I feel like i could nerd out on a body and spend days laying / cutting masking tape. And if you actually wait the proper amount of time for the paint to dry...

Last time I painted the body almost literally as I was driving down the road. Last coat was sprayed in the parking lot at Duck Creek and the body was scratched before I even peeled the window masks off.

Guys, on Thursday we're doing an early crawl and grilling hotdogs/burgers at White Settlement. I'll bring an extra crawler in case any of the thread lurkers want to show up.

They’re not “needed”, just what’s possible. The duck guys rave about that damn scx24. They have a few diff kinds and they all say the scx24 is hands down the best out of the box.
