I've had an interest in these awesome machines for a few years now and am pretty close to purchasing one. They all appear to be pretty upgradable but is something like the wraith or the bomber a good starter platform? Or are these already pretty much upgraded as much as somebody would want?

upgrades lead down a serious rabit hole, almost every out the box setup will be fine enough to have fun and upgrades can come along with repairs but ultimately it depends on what kind of driving you want to do.

wraith and bomber fall into a 2.2 inch tire category so they are bigger rigs, either can craw pretty well and handle higher speeds better than 1.9 inch tire options but 1.9 are more true to scale

Is the 2.2 any more capable than the 1.9 beyond the added ground clearance gained by the larger tire? For instance, are upgrade options more readily available for one than the other or is the options and upgrades market comparable between the two? I really appreciate the input.

2.2 is larger so some trails can get pretty tight. if you want to crawl, 1.9 is where its at. stick to the big brand current models and you wont find any issue finding upgrades other that any virus related supply issues. Axial, Traxxas and Element are good brands to look at.

Start watching some YT videos and see what those guys are building and how they're upgrading them. That's part of how I'm learning as I go as well as bugging @Silverspool at all hours of the day.... Channels like Scale Builders Guild, Harley Designs, RC Girl, and others that will pop up once you start those channels. SBG is a cool channel if you want to go ultra scale. Kinda like building a model car, but in an RC platform. Like Frank said.... It's a rabbit hole.

Well, spent a large portion of yesterday clearing trails at White Settlement. We can now trail from the start, all the way back to the to the bouncer hills!

It’s all about trailing these days. Apocalypse has eliminated all foreseeable comps, except crawlfest is still not “officially” cancelled.

Element is gone, all i have left is the comper, its going to have to retain double duty trailing and comping

Going to be at WS prob 12-12:30, again. Gotta test the trail, as oppose to the “cut then drive where it’s cut” method used yesterday.

Took the boys to our deer lease for some “social distancing”. Had some natural obstacles.
