I made some shock hoops for the crawler tonight. I don’t think they’re perfect, but I learned a few things. I also added another forward mount hole vs what the factory mount allowed. This is a starting point for how I’m going to add/mount a roll cage in the future. Thoughts?

Phase one of my crawler upgrade. And yes... I’m using a pink cutting mat. I didn’t feel like dragging out my big one. This is the wife’s.

Dude... those wagon wheels can go kick rocks. They suck. I aborted and put the tires on my other “regular” bead locks. I’ll update in a little bit. Current situation.

I have some rings from RC4WD designed for the proline tires. You can have them.

Wagon wheels are the biggest mistake I've made in this hobby. I made trips to Home Depot to buy long screws and stuff to make it easier, but I could never get Pit Bull tires mounted on the wheels. Went out and bought the Method MR307s with only 5 screws and never looked back.

Yet another thing I should have asked about. John, If the guy won’t let me return these I’ll try em. Otherwise I have 4 paper weights. Working on the new body at the moment.

Body is pretty much done. I wanted to see how it looks with these wheels. It’s not my favorite, but it’ll do. Added some brass steering knuckles up front and a brass diff cover out back. I bought wheel weights, but they don’t fit these Covid rims. So they’re going on the bomber. I’ll run it like this for a while and see if I want to add them later. Next up, front bumper, sliders, and rear cage.

I had good luck with mine, when I did it. I just clamped a little bit more of the tire, as oppose to, trying to seat it perfectly on the indention on the rubber. I used the deep dish wagon wheels and those blue rings weren’t wide enough.

Truck is making progress! Ready to see hit out in action!
