Lots of people at White Settlement today. I think @Tundra2Play counted 35 vehicles in the parking lot.

I broke another knuckle, then the transmission bearings finally went bad and made the spur gear shaft bounce. So replaced all that, then suddenly the car started cutting out. Gonna try and figure that out tonight. Only other pic I got today.

I completely forgot to get any pics out there. Good times though.
    Figure out the car issue?

I think it might be a bad extension wire between the ESC and receiver. The problem is intermittent, but I can only get it to happen when using that extension. It would work until the battery cells get down to about 4.0v. I don't see any breaks in the wire, but must be causing some kind of voltage drop.

Wonder if there is corrosion in the extension housing? If you want to solder the connections, you can borrow my soldering station if you don't have one. I had to do that on both of mine and it seems to be holding up well.

I think I'm just going to go without the extension and plug the ESC directly into the receiver. I only had the extension so I could connect to the Castlelink without having to get into the receiver box. It was a pain to access the box under the battery until I made the relocate plate. I'm happy with my settings, so I'll just put the receiver module in the balloon and zip tie it to the motor wires.

    Gotcha...
How bad was the bearing? Were the gears all rusted inside?

The inner race of the spur gear shaft bearings were completely wrecked and had lots of up/down, side to side play. There was minimal grease inside the transmission case and it all had a nice brown color. I replaced the bearings and put it back together as is for the meantime, but will pull it apart again when I redo the axles and stuff. I'm just gonna leave the crawler in running condition while waiting for my front steering & universals to come in. Hoping it all comes in sometime next week before the weekend. Still unsure if I'll make it to Hidden Falls though.

Did you you get new steering to replace the plastic stuff, or is it also for better turning radius?

Right now my plan is to go to hidden falls. Need to use the trailer some more!

I spent a couple hours in the trailer yesterday working on running some interior electrical wires. Still need to run one more power/ground wire for a phone charger on the inside, and run a power wire to the roof for the rack lights. Better to do it now before the interior panels go in. Probably going to crawl underneath it today to install the rock lights...

I just bought stock replacement parts in aluminum for now. Next time I have ~$100 to spare, I might go for the narrow XR10 mod.

@Zac of all trades Looking forward to seeing that trailer! What day do you plan on going out to HF?

@Suprajim54 Do you have the Castle programmer? I need to change the output voltage on my BEC up to 7.4.

And my front "rock light" sucks ass.... I'm going to have to figure something else out for that. I think I mounted it too high inside the body and it doesn't shine very far forward. @Zac of all trades are you bringing yours out to HF? I'd like to see the square led's on it.

I will probably ask off the friday before and head out early friday morning. Which reminds me i need to look at the schedule and make sure im off.

I have been working on the electrical wiring as of lately, once that is good then its time to install panels on the inside! Then the cabinet build begins!

Yeah i will bring it, not sure if i will get much time to play with it though. Ive only been to HF once so im sure i will be driving the 1/1 scale most of the time. Unless there is something close to camp.

Anybody ever seen a Fish's chasis? Wondering if their chasis and low cg trans mount is worth the price of admission.
