Super glue + baking soda is the real deal folks. Put your glue, then sprinkle baking soda over it and pray you have it in the right spot. Axle tube seems repaired for now. Atleast she’s driveable. Thinking of going cvd shafts in replacment for the axle shafts.

The builds are some of the fun. I remember building touring cars in my living room. Parts all over the place. Sanding to get each part as smooth as possible. Trying to design a decent paint scheme. I may be in the market for a air brush. Never had one and would like to give a go at some decent paint/body work.

I think I have settled on the Xray T4. That thing is the tits, but mad $$.

I’ve also been thinking about an air brush. I enjoy coming up with a scheme painting the body just as much as I enjoy playing with them. Really sucks the $$$ that adds up doing new bodies bodies when you add paint and body cost into it. On that note, I have all the paint and stickers for my next SCT body, just need to purchase the actual body lol.

Question for y’all addicts....since my axle tube is snapped, and I’m missing part of my universal axle shaft, what should I look for, as far as, upgraded “prebuilt” full axle vs replacing each part with something better? I think between axial plastic tube and universals I’m at around $75-80, so if I’m spending that much might as well spend a little more, right?? :anonymous:(After more searching, aluminum alloy whole assembly’s are around $50 on fleabay.)

My dad said he swapped to cv axles and hasn’t had any issues (broke 3 shafts on universals I think). Opinions on that?

Either way, I need to go to bed, buttttt I can’t/haven’t been able to crawl with it, how does it look as far as the parts list?

You can replace the plastic axle for $10.99 to get it back running.
    Capture+_2017-12-13-06-44-40.jpg
I, too, have been looking at my options. Boom Racing sells their XRMod Phat Axles, but it increases your track width by 23mm. So, you would be mismatched front to back unless you get 2 axles. I might just modify my stock plastic axles and do the Narrow Xrmod, but have to buy individual parts. From everything I've read, you need to get the Beef Tubes, XR10 narrow universals and Wraith knuckles and c hubs. It's about $150 for all of that with all metal parts. You can get the stock plastic knuckles and c hubs to save a few bucks initially if you want. Then, you need to just do some slight dremeling to the inside of the plastic axle housing to fit the universal and everything else should bolt on.
The other metal axle options I've found don't increase steering angle, they just look more scale or have a removable diff cover. I'm not sure if you can dremel the metal axle housing like you can the plastic to fit the xr10 universals. Metal would be more durable, but may not slide across the rocks as easily as plastic.
