I just need to read the instructions better. I looked at them this morning and saw that it shows arrows for the direction that the turnbuckles thread on. Also had to go back and grease the gears in the diffs after I had assembled them. I was just overly excited and trying to work too fast. After a couple missteps, I'm hoping it's smooth from here on out. Also, looks like my 2S 5000mah batteries will fit, but I think I'm still going to get some small 3 cells for it. I got the need for speed!

One of the things i do is mark off steps ive completed and highlighted critical steps, circle off complicated steps, in case i build another one.

Tamiya instructions are among the best, some others are really difficult to follow

Figuring out which bag screws are in can be a bit of a pain too. A few times I thought I was missing hardware before realizing the screw is in some bag that I hadn't even opened yet.

Yep that can be very frustrating, itll feel good once you start attaching the front and rear assemblies to the chassis and it looks like a car finally

    We're getting there...

I'm about at the step where I should be installing the electronics. Guess I'll get the tire glue and possibly the servo tomorrow. Still not sure what I do for paint on the Subaru body. I could make it look like the box, but might do a Ken Block Monster livery to match the MonsterBolt. I just don't know that I can mimic that black to white transition with the DC Shoes font.

going to need a lot of stickers for that transition.

Happy Friday the 13th!! Swapped the spur gear and have the new pinion installed (11/87). Installed the lowering kit in the front and it still didn’t sit where I want, so I swapped the long shocks out for the shorter ones (20wt fr/35wt r). Articulation is significantly less, but front end seems tostay planted better when i climbed up the base of a tree. Ready to test her out!!

@Suprajim54 - I would paint it a sparkly blue and paint the wheels gold. It’s a basher body, and sucks spending time/money making them look badass, then they look like shit lol

With a can of metallic blue and pearl white I can make it look like the box. Its probably the easiest option for a nice paint scheme because I think the stickers in the kit might cover up any bad/crooked paint lines. I have the MK4 Supra body coming that may get a more detailed paint job, but I need some practice first. If i spray the blue and screw it up, I'll just scrap the 2 tone idea and paint the rest in blue
