My 2012 has developed a creaking in the last week and it’s quite loud. Hoping someone has a similar experience based on what I’ve tried.

It happens mostly when pulling out of a parking spot or driveway. I never hear it while driving and not over speed bumps. I’ve tried pushing the truck side to side and did not hear it either.

I had the wheels off looking for something loose by could not find anything (not a mechanic).

It’s quite loud in the cab and apparently outside of it also. I have seen people are having problems with the aluminium bumper stop, does anyone know the best way to rule that out? Thanks in advance.

having the same issue, more than likely something to do with the alignment cams/bushings worn or loose torque value on the bolts

I think mine was possibly a rock in the skid plate. I removed it a week ago and haven’t heard it since.

Sounds like control arm bushings are shot.

OP is suspension stock or aftermarket?

Does it occur at full lock or straight?

Answer those and we shall go from there.

Aftermarket 2 inch suspension lift no blocks. Didn’t matter which way the wheel went.

If it's when the wheel is cranked, it's likely the steering stops. Put some grease on them and see if it helps.

checked my cam bolts today and guess what! the Toyota tech didn't torque them to 100ft./pds. after doing an alignment last summer. the creaking noise drove me crazy today driving with the windows down and I had to get out the torque wrench and 19mm first cam bolt I checked was 75-80 ft/pds and Ill get to the other 3 tomorrow since Im partying for memorial day. just doing the one reduced the noise pretty much completely when I tweak the others ill be good to go.
