I've got the HD and love it.

This is actually a good case for the SE model for the short bed Tacoma. If I had to do it again, I would seriously consider it. Although I would definitely do the black coating again, that stuff is tough as nails and looks awesome.

Cross bin 13 - I got it and was well worth it. I keep all my recovery gear, backup battery, other misc stuff in there. There is about 5.5 inches of clearance between the bed and the bin, so you can slide stuff under there to get the full bed length. You'd have no problem with a snowboard.

If I ever down the road decide to get an RTT, definitely will get those front runners. Looks pretty slick!

So, what's the plan if you need to move a washer/dryer or a large piece of furniture?

That's the reason I went for a Bakflip tri-fold, but these are certainly more robust.

    Edit: I move a lot...

The plan would be take the Diamondback off your truck if you can't load it on top. Takes 10 minutes to remove.

Largest things I've hauled are an oversized Craftsman tool box setup, and a new hood. Both took up the entire top of the cover. I think its easier to just lay it flat on top and tie it down with all the cleats that are on it, at least for bix boxes. You don't have to worry about it fitting inside the confines of the bed area.

I've not noticed any glare after the install. I was ready to order some Durabak textured dark red paint($75.) but like the looks of the polished aluminum.

Actually I was just looking at this more closely. Does that not have the Diamond pattern underneath the coating, or is it just the angle/lighting of the picture? Looks different from mine.

I feel like I'd throw my back out trying to take that on and off, haha.

I plan on getting the black coated one. My experience with polished diamond plate on fire trucks and how quick it can oxidize and require grinding/polishing makes it a "no" for me.

Well then a washer/dryer or large piece of furniture is most certainly out of the question for you, so I guess you don't have to worry about it :D

In all seriousness, it comes apart in three pieces and isn't that bad. Yes it would help to have a second hand, but can easily be done by one person.

There was a option of diamond plate or a textured finish . So he got the textured finish ,no diamond plate under there.

Anyone got a fix for the locking bar adjustment plates? I royally fcked up mine, luckily the covers close and are watertight, just don't look flat.

Thinking I need to just remake the hardware out of steel. Haven't gotten around to it.

Get a 8x5ft utility trailer. I wouldn't be without one and you can get them used for around $500. So much easier than loading up the bed. I'm thinking about upgrading to a dump trailer. Of course my wife questions why I have a truck. :D

Not a taco, but I loved the one I had. I found mine on their outlet site because of a missed weld, 35% off. I hated the diamond tread and the cleats, I lucked out on mine.

So my SE showed at 11:30 am this morning. The shipping company started to be tease to me with delivery for last Wednesday. I promptly installed it as soon as it was off of the truck which took about three hours. Instructions are fine, but one still needs to think it over and I kept messing with adjusting it to get the seals tighter in the corners.

It's very well engineered! At least for a Tacoma with a six foot bed, the locking arms all fit directly into the bed rails (unlike some older videos I saw on YouTube that used an added rear plate for the tailgate side?).

They also provided a tube of black sealant for the front corners, which instead I used some sticky foam seals (like the kind you buy for windows/doors) that mostly works. I did notice a little bit of light coming in from the front corners so I'll go ahead and use the provided sealant. I also bought a tailgate seal kit I'll add.

I went with the SE version for one due to less cost, and two, I don't intend to drive an ATV on top of it. ;)

I do have one of the lightest roof top tents (the Tepui Ayer) that I may put on with the Front Runner racks? I currently have that tent on an off-road trailer that I built for a Jeep TJ. Should I move the tent to the Tacoma, the SE's 400 lb. rating is good enough.

I did go with the original diamondback as with a simple, less flashy sliver truck, I like the added detail it adds. Also the diamond back matches my trailer!

The biggest reason that I went with this Diamondback cover is that I now own 4+ acres of eventually retirement land in the dusty Black Hills which is a two-day drive, that I'll be camping on 3-4 times a year, and what sold me was that it should be for the lifetime of the truck and the security it offers as I'll be traveling with tools and equipment for working on my land.

I also love how sexy it looks on a 6 foot bed! It really adds character!

Unfortunately the added 8" cross bin I ordered, the box had gotten hit in shipping and it was damaged. I will be asking for a replacement. I really like this size as items can still can fit under it (after all I wanted a Tacoma with a 6 ft. bed). For one I have a 5-1/2 ft. gas powered Stihl trimmer that can fit under this bin.

I'm very pleased with this cover and it's worth the money!

My replacement bin showed up on Friday. This morning I went and bought a roll of black mat for tool boxes and trimmed it to size for the three compartments (not pictured).
