That is a completely different kit that FROR. That kit does not have an e-brake.

The FROR kit is a 4runner/FJ rear kit adapted to fit the pickups. The trail gear kit is a GM kit adapted to fit pickups.

    BTW that axle is beautiful.

I kept the 8.4 due to already having the locked ARB setup. The brakes are amazing.

Once I have the bracket, I'll post the part number.
If I were you, I'd have FROR cut/weld the new ends since you are so close to them.

Each cable is separate and terminate at the bracket. From the photos I've seen, a separate cable is between the cable ends in the bracket and will attach to the OEM lever configuration. This is where the McGyver'ing will come into play.

I don't have the bracket yet so I can't say if one can be built or not but, I don't see why not.

I'll post a photo once I have it.

So I am still waiting for the bracket to arrive.
Meanwhile, I did acquire this 'T' setup. I found some metric all-thread and 3 flange nuts to make it work after I get the bracket.

    IMG_2416.jpg

I will pull the DS cable from the housing, cut the housing where I need, then splice it together with some industrial electric line shrink tube. I'll do this in two stages. After, I will modify the actual cable end, solder and hopefully be done with this.

When I picked up the all-thread, an actual Toyota tech was in line in front of me. I told him of my plans and he said I was on the right path.

    More to follow.

I'm so ready for my rear diamond project to be done lol

    Thanks for the motivation @Ritchie

The axles are for sure a masterpiece. It's a shame to even paint them. 20161129_074030_zps3vfdjdwd_dd5ccf9d7d4696152cc00e1d66713f6522189c17.jpg

I now have the bracket that the cable housing ends clip into.
I'll get this installed once the rain stops.
It'll be nice to have a parking brake again.

I just went through your specs link, cool. How is the project coming along?

I am hoping to gain some ground this weekend (weather permitting) in getting the parking brake close to being functional.

I put it all together and mounted it over the weekend. I still have to put the shocks back on, hook up the brake line and proportioning valve, and tighten all bolts down. Along with some other odds and ends, I should be able to get it back on tires this week. It's been a fun learning process, but doing it all myself has made the project last longer than I hoped. If I learned anything it's that I should have mounted the bare housing first then built everything while it was on the truck lol. It's a heavy beast.

I was able to work on the parking brake this past weekend.
I shortened the DS FJ Cruiser cable housing 32". The end of the cable will be used so I cut it and left a 6"-8" whip on it which has enough overlap with the cable that is connected inside the Drotor. This overlapping will allow me to clamp the two together. If this works, great, but if not, I'll need to be creative and come up with something else.
The metric piece of all-thread was also cut and I have about 3" remaining that goes through the parking brake swivel point.
The bracket I made is 4"x 3", bent in the middle. The holes are 9/16". Tight fit but eventually went in enough to get the spring type tabs to spread and lock. I did need to grind off 1/4" on the vertical side to get clearance from the fuel tank.

I re-used the OEM parking brake bracket hole & bolt to bolt this new bracket in place. This required me to drop the fuel tank 2" to get my hands between the frame & tank.

The routing is perfect and does allow for flex.
The pic with the 2 overlapping cables... where the zip ties are is where I will install the clamps.

    More to follow.

    I'll get the clamps installed later today.1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg 5.jpg

No parking brake for now.. This setup wont allow for it. I can't remember the last time I used it anyways. Worse case scenario I'll jam something between my seat frame and the brake pedal and push the electric seat forward to keep the brake pedal down before I turn the truck off

and kill your battery in the process lol. temporary fix sure, but for those who live on a hill like i do, leaving it in gear and turning the wheels isnt 100%. i need an E brake.

    awesome setup otherwise :D

True.. I guess my future plans will be searching for a dependable line-lock to use in some situations. Otherwise, maybe further down the line when I SAS this thing I can look into different transfer case options that also allow for a transfer case brake. In the mean time, it's resting against trees (or other peoples vehicles ;) )lol.

    Thanks dude

    Stuff and junk and things...

I have a ballistic tcase brake that actually works. On my J shift case. The down side is lots of adjustments to keep from making too much noise. I had to beef the mount some and build a new lever to go from the e brake on the frame to the t case.
