Anyone have a diamondback bed cover? I just bought a 2018 Taco TRD OR DCSB that came with a Diamondback 270 bed cover. It leaks water into the bed when it rains. I understand a little, but it looked as though it was leaking from several places. The cover was bought new, only a few months old according to the seller. Can anyone give me some tips that have expierience with these brand covers? 2C401D74-6391-4A33-8836-899BA3127C70.jpg

Do you have it sealed properly? My bed cover goes through car wash machines and the interior of my bed is bone dry

I can tell just from the pic your seals are not tight enough

I would take a 45lb weight and set on each edge while adjusting the panels. It’s a PITA but worth it.

You shouldn’t be able to get a single finger under the bed cover when tight enough

Ok, after adding weight, tighten the clamps on the interior, or adjust the rods that lock it down?

Dude. Also call diamondback. Tell them you bought a truck with the cover and they will probably walk you through tightening the cover down. These guys are rock solid with their customer service

You’ll see two brackets under the cover held by 2 bolts. Those need to essentially be raised to allow the rods to lock down tighter. Hard to explain without a visual reference

I was in there this afternoon, just looking around. I know what you’re referencing. I’ll try giving them a call. Thanks for the info!

The seals will break down over time and eventually need to be replaced. I ran their HD cover on an F-150 for 6 years and had I not sold it with the truck I would have been due for a new seal. As stated, Call DB, their customer service is on point.

Your Cab side cover doesn't look like it was weighed down enough during installation. Got your old tires kicking around? Throw them on the top of the cover and get yourself under the cover and readjust the tension/positions. I was solo when I installed mine a month or so ago threw tires on top and tightened everything, no leaks at all and I've directly pressure washed it as a test.

I have the same issue, and it's only when it's been raining consistently. It's not much water entry, but still a pain. The problem is, I can't get it to lock when tightened so the seals are parallel from the center, especially on the front gate. I had to drop one of the gas arms as it is to get it to go down. If they had the angled locking plate like on the rear gate, I could see it working but not using the OEM track. I installed it easily enough and have played around with different tensions. I've also sealed the bulkhead very well.

Question for you guys on the bulkhead seal. I just installed the 270 and made the mistake of skipping over the bulkhead weather strip/gasket install. However, even without that weather strip installed, I noticed that water doesn't necessarily enter from where the bulkhead weather strip is, but instead enters from the 2 corners where toyota left a gap and Diamondack instructs you to use silicon caulking. Where does water actually enter where the bulk head weather strip goes? I don't seem to see a gap available, at least not without the bulkhead cap removed.

You probably won't get leaking where you skipped the seal. The water you'll get is from the gaps/channels you're referring to (and is probably where the water is getting in that the OP referenced). I've had good success sealing those gaps with this:

    https://www.amazon.com/GREAT-STUFF-Stone-Insulating-Sealant/dp/B001AQ0FVC

After that it should be waterproof. Bulkhead seal or not.

Thanks Kyle! Is that stuff you used easy to remove if you mess up? I’m debating what you used vs. caulk or a weather strip with adhesive.

Yeah it's pretty simple to remove - there's instructions floating around somewhere. Basically I just sprayed it in there, let it expand, cut it to shape, then sprayed some plasti-dip over it so it doesn't look porous. I found the stuff I used sticks a lot better than caulking.

Have someone stand on the covers while you adjust the screws under the cover.

I'm having the same issue! I've been working with Matt (DBRep) did dude. I've had my son 200+ lbs sit on each corner while I adjusted the rod guides (7/16) wrench. I still have leakage. I'm waiting for Matt to reply to my most recent leakage issue. We've had quite a bit if rain over the past few weeks in NYC Metro. I'm sure Matt will have a solution. One last question. Did anyone use the gasket that DB recommends for Taco under the bed rail anterior bulkhead?
