I installed my diamondback cover today and you are supposed to take out the end screw on each side of the bed rail to attach bracket that the lock bars secure under. When doing this both sides would not come out, both sides stripped and i tried to use a screw extractor bit and drill on one side and nothing happened but the screw end was drilled out. What should i do? Any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone?[IMG]

I have no useful advice but that sounds terrible, @naggudllib. Good luck getting it sorted out.

    And welcome to TW.

I had the exact same problem on one of my bolts. I used a multi tool to slot the bolt then used a large flat head screwdriver to get it out. Ace hardware for replacement bolts.

No, I don't recall anything that gave me trouble with the DB. Can you take a picture of the issue? Perhaps that can give us a little better insight on where you're at.

Cutting a slot in the screw head sounds like a good place to start. Use a file or a dremel tool if you have one.

One of these is on my short list for my wife's Tacoma so I hope this is not a common issue!

I know what exactly you are talking about but I didn't have any issues at all. Good luck getting it out.
