I saw someone put cargo netting between them for jackets and such. Think it might have been Last Line of Defense on YouTube. I might do that in the future myself.

I seen Mike's Mod and I like it, I have thought about that myself. I have also thought about using adhesive backed loop, so I can attach velcro pouches up inside there. Specially in the rips where the locking mechanism are, I think it would work well with the limited space.

I have thought about trying to put some kind of low profile rifle rack in there to hold a single truck gun.

Yeah, I'd love to take advantage of that space. It's one of the things i was hoping for when i saw this thread. I like modifying my mods.

The holes on the bin side are for the locking rods to still reach the bed rails. If put in wrong, you can't close/lock it

Come spring I'm gonna see if I can mount "quickfists" or something similar to hold my shovel and axe off the bed and out of the way, but easily accessible. Would probably have to drill into the ribs themselves, but just one or two tiny holes shouldn't compromise the strength.
I also like the cargo net idea someone else mentioned.

I ordered some stuff up last night to install a cargo net. I will try and get it done this weekend. I'll post some pictures up when I finish.

Post some pics! This sounds like a great idea.
I bought the cross bin for this reason. Keeps the bed organized and everything out of the way.

I have quick fists mounted for a flash light and axe, they tuck up nicely under the cover. I screwed right into the cross rib portion and it’s a beautiful thing

Love that axe placement. So doing it. Self tapping metal screws?

Just fat wood screws as the cover is aluminum. Easy

Those cavities might also be a good spot to store a pistol in a holster that's hook and looped/velcroed onto the underside of the cover panel (no extra drilling), possibly a strap for extra retention of the holster (Someone else mentioned truck gun. Not sure what and how, but that's something that came to mind for me). A relatively flat roll up tool bag with pockets for the tools could work well there, too.

Edit: Boswell did mention using velcro and truck gun.

I went with some small plastic J hooks, spaced them just over 7 inches apart. I will be getting plastic clip so I can adjust the tension of the shock cord, depending on what I place in it.

Hello all. I am in the planning phase of my build, new boy coming next month so I have some time. The DB cover with a setup like @BattlecryTaco did with the frontrunner rack and RTT. Very sweet setup BTW!!

My biggest question is do any of you have a concern with the integrity of the bed sides with all the added weight and potential flex of the bed while off-road? Did you use bed stiffners?

    Thanks for the help.

Where are you guys adding the silicone to help with the water seepage, the instructions were somewhat lacking. If anyone could provide a photo that would be helpful in confirming where I think it goes. Thanks.

A lot has been made about this but I haven’t noticed. The bed moves independently from the cab so whatever you mount make sure that there’s room for movement compared to the cab. I have a KB Voodoo Rack around my DB cover (goes on and off for camping) and I never see the sides flex, just the whole bed moving
