when you fully pull it out it doesn’t bend or lean? Due to the weight?

Finally warm enough to get the Chassis Unlimited bed rack up on the cover. A little drilling, and some really poorly placed bolts, and it's all on. I had to order 160# springs from Diamondback, but it works.

And this ^ is exactly why I bought the short bed version for the long bed. And didn't buy the center panels.

No because it comes out about 80% and it’s resting on the tail gate, but with the rear anchored it doesn’t flip out. Works great

A piece of polyurethane C-channel would be a solid spacer, take minimal space in the bed, and one wants to be creative can be stored on the bottom side of the cover... I'll be following suit and post pics shortly.

What are you asking for the kit? I'm in and out of the area for work regularly.

Anyone near San Diego looking for a headache rack? Maybe you buy mine for cheaper then retail? Maybe trade me something cool? Or maybe trade me for something useless in your garage. Don’t really care just hit me up if you’re semi local and wanna deal!

Went through this whole thread, (which is awesome btw) and was curious if anyone has modified their locks? I didn't see anything and I'm going to explore some options with a buddy who's a locksmith.

If anyone is interested, I'll post up my findings once we take this project on.

What kind of modification were you planning on the locks?

One thing I noticed a few months back is that the locks on the DB allow you to remove the key without it being locked. It will appear to be locked and if you try to turn the handle it would seem locked, but you can actually turn the lock cylinder with a flat head screw driver and "unlock" it. It's made me a bit paranoid now, so whenever I lock the DB I always try and turn the cylinder with the key half way inserted to make sure it's actually locked.

I'd be interested in higher quality locks for sure if they are an easy swap.

That's going to make me paranoid now... well, time to go check I guess

It's hard to describe, but there is a certain position in the rotation of the key that allows the key to be removed but the cylinder isn't locked to the handle. At least on mine, maybe I have poor locks? I'm not really sure if the issue is widespread or not.

I don't seem to have that issue. Only allows me to remove it at either full open or full close.

Here's a quick video, if you listen towards the end you can hear a "click" when I turn it towards the locking position.

Maybe mine is just a fluke, but just something to be aware of I guess.
