I stack firewood on top of the cover. So much more convenient.

Links to the tailgate seals? Just installed my cover yesterday. I’m going to weather proof and make any adjustments necessary later this week

About to order my second ( I had a first gen on an F150 and was very happy with it) DB bed cover but this time I am going to go with the black coated version. I haven't tallied the numbers from all the posts in this thread but it looks to me like there are more problems with the smooth black than the diamond plate black. Is that about right?

Also, haven't seen any comments on how the black coating is holding up to the sun as far as fading. Comments? Thanks.

I have a used diamond plate and the paint looks great, it’s not actually paint but I don’t know if it’s a powder coat. It’s extremely heavy duty and i have even sanded it down in areas it looks the same.

I love the look of the smooth black but the diamond plate I got is well worth it, this thing will fail other areas before the coating.

It isn't really fading. I've had mine 4.5 years. It's holding up just fine in the Florida sun.

Can anyone tell me if the black plastic bins with the yellow lids (from Costco) fit under the cover with the OEM mat?

Anything that i put in there with the covers should be no taller than 17 inches (with the mat)

I believe the bins are 14.25” tall? If so, then yes. Keep anything below 17” for good measure. You can squeeze slightly taller items I’d needed, but just be careful.
    This^

bed height is 19” I believe, but we have the latches, so, anything as high as the t-slot rails.

Can anyone comment on cold weather installation? I just received mine and am itching to install it, but the instructions state in several places that the surfaces for the bulkhead weatherstrip and bed cap shims must be at least 50 deg F for 24 hours for the adhesive. I'm not going to see those temps for months...

I was thinking the same. I was actually going to have DB do the install as their shop is 3 hours from home. I changed my mind and had it delivered. I'm sure their shop is heated, but they told me about an hour for the install, and no word about the truck being in cold outside air within 24 hours of the adhesive being applied...I just wonder how big of na issue it actually is.

I bought mine from someone last week who only had the cover for a few months...We did the install pretty easily on a cold day...He didn't have the bulkhead adhesive strip so I ordered from diamondback- it gets delivered tomorrow. I will install the adhesive bulkhead strip and do the silicone this week sometime....It poured rain here last night and pretty much nothing got in. I think you wont have a hard time installing it at all...The adhesive part should be a non issue with the temperature to be honest.

Actually, I am. Was considering adding 2 more sets to my DB. How much you want for them?

Curious what the discoloration is on the near right corner of the second pic. Is that water or some small imperfection in the coating?
