    Appreciate the update @verynearlypure .

I got my last run of leaves done and I’ll be learning from my own experience w my HD tomorrow.

Do you have a metal shop that could help
    with the brackets you need?

How’d you end up with two of them?

Worst case scenario for me, I put the OEM rails back on. I’ll post here on how it goes.

I have a few metal shops around me but I haven’t considered that option.

One of them is my original cover that needs sent back regardless of outcome and the other is my new warrantied one. The difference and changes between generations are great

Unfortunately, I can’t resort to my OEM bed rails as they’re too inadequate in my book. Any tightness with the c bolt clamps will cause easy water leaks. I could have as easily just bought new OEM plastic bed rails that cost just as much as metal but I feared wasted money and the eventual dimple upon tightened issue.

There is a break in period. Also, it doesn't need to be super tight for the weatherstripping to work. You can make it snug and there will be some give in the weatherstripping over time. You can get inside and close up the bed and see where the light comes through to see if you need it tighter. I recommend locking the lock mechanism so that as it breaks in and become looser, it doesn't open when you are driving. Good luck. I struggled with the front half in the beginning but it works well now.

I added three sections of L-track to add more options for tie down points. Aluminum c-channel was added to the underside to reinforce the panels where the tracks are mounted. The threaded stud fittings work great to temporarily mount things like my bike fork mounts.

I have a measurement request. Would y’all mind measuring the length and width of each panel please? Have an idea, but want to see if it’s possible before ordering one. Thanks!

Has anyone mounted their spare on top of their diamondback? Trying to think of a creative place to put it that isn’t on the roof, tailgate or in the bed.

the panels are 28.8”. Your tire would need to be that size or smaller I would think.
