Thank you. I was wondering if those were them. I’ve been saving up and eyeing them for awhile.

Wait, am I missing something? Why the mount on the Diamondback? Doesn't this remove the functionality of of the doors completely? I guess you still have more security and a more firm platform. Can you elaborate more on this?

Ok, so the tip I would give you may (should) be obvious but I didnt think of it until after I mounted my tracks. I mounted my tracks so they are equidistant from the sides of the bed/DB Cover, which looks great. But the bed and cover are not a perfect rectangle, so what I should have done was mount the tracks exactly parallel to each other so that if I want to move the bars fore and aft for any reason, I can do that without adjusting the width of the feet. Hopefully that makes sense, the way I did it works, and is more aesthetically pleasing, but takes more work if you want to make changes to the bars.

This set up is not for everyone, but I dont leave my RTT all the time, I have a lift in the garage to take it on and off when I dont plan to camp for awhile. So the cover gets used as intended then. But yea you have the idea, very solid platform and lockable, dry storage.

The reason I’m eyeing this set-up is because like said you can use it for more than just the RTT. You can add kayak/SOP racks, bike racks or just haul stuff on it.

It pairs well with the Diamondback.

Although I agree with you in regards to mounting other options, items like SUP/Kayaks might be too long to work but you can always use a Hitch rack as well. I plan to mount long items like that on top my prinsu rack

Yes, the hitch mount is key. However so many options but require so much $

So question, I’ve got the OEM cover so my bed rail is different because it has pins on it for stock cover. Do you think I’ll have an issue mounting the new diamondback I just picked it up last night. Lemme know

    Thanks

That is a good deal. You can add KBvoodoo crossbars that can be quickly removed and thus won't interfere with the SE.

Or, you can add a Front Runner setup that requires drilling and minor fab work.

Either way the Smitty RTT will function well.

The OEM cover needs the side pins and front bracket. The plastic bed rails have cut outs.

Best to trade the buyer your bed rails for theirs, and provide all HW. That cover is worthless without the HW

Got it, but until I get that oem cover sold, do you know if the diamondback will install with current bed rails?

Not with the OEM cover installed.

Not sure where you live, but in my part of town the used OEM covers go for $200 to $400, and the Diamonbacks go for over $1000.

I think you’re misunderstanding what I am saying. I’ve already purchased the diamondback, I currently have installed the OEM cover. Which I plan to remove and sell, my question is, will I be able to install the diamond back cover with the oem tonneau cover bed rails or do I need to swap them out before installing the diamond back

Here’s my setup with KB Voodoo bars and a diamondback cover. I love the setup, but I’m looking to get a RTT trailer in the near future instead.

The names of the parts can cause confusion.

Bed rails, normally refer to the plastic that covers the top of your bed. They are notched on trucks with OE cover.

Accessory rails live in the bed, and will be needed to install the DB cover.

You will need to uninstall the OEM cover HW.

Diamondback se with My own cross bars. the front door can be opened even when the tent is mounted. Unless the shower tank is mounted to it then it gets a little heavy to open .IMG_2178.jpgIMG_2486.jpgIMG_2264.jpgIMG_2960.jpg

That's a really small tent though, could you do that with a regular size RTT?
