I hate to piggyback others threads but I am hoping to hear some feedback on install and fit. I heard you had to drill into the bed side which I am hesitating to do.

Had a diamondback on my last truck and they are awesome. Just don't want to bastardize a new truck.

check out this video - He does a great, detailed review of the cover. Looks like an easy install and awesome cover. I almost pulled the trigger but if you add the black paint it is close in price to a shell. I decided to go with a shell.

Just saw this the other week, looks like an awesome product, appears well worth the price if you can swing it.

I know...the HD cover in black is $2k. I'm torn between this diamondback tonneau and an A.R.E overland.

I decided to go with the ARE Overland. I've never had a shell or cover and this is my 3rd truck. Thought about doing KB voodoo racks with the diamondback non HD cover and RTT but in the end, for the money i think the ARE just makes more sense for me.

I don't think that the KB Voodoo racks will allow the diamondback cover to flip up. Am I wrong?

correct - if you had the racks with an RTT it would limit access which is another reason the ARE makes more sense to me. Thought about trying to mount racks directly to the cover as another option so you could open it but still would not work if you had RTT mounted.

When I was shopping for my Diamondback HD, I quickly found out that none of the well-known major dealers were willing to deviate significantly from the prices listed on their web sites, no matter how much I tried over the phone. And each one had the same price.

I did get a much more positive response, however, to a suggestion of "price matching". It seemed like the sales people had more flexibility in this circumstance.

This allowed me to even shop sites that were somewhat questionable or had poor customer ratings. Places I'd ordinarily ignore. Just wanted a low number.

Price match was done and I have been enjoying the Diamondback ever since.

I went down the same path and opted for the camper shell. First time I've had one in 30 years of truck ownership and I think I'll always have one. If you don't often carry tall stuff, you'll love it.

Care to say what company you purchased it from and how much you paid?

I actually work in the social media department for a large E-commerce store that sells aftermarket accessories and one of our sites deals with tonneau covers. While I don't deal in sales and cannot guarantee any pricing I do know we are one of the largest distributors for DiamondBack. You can give them a call if you are interested. It's Tonneaucoverworld.com, just let them know that Zach G sent you.

It will at least get the conversation started. That's up to the sales team and unfortunately, I cannot help that.

    Auto Customs.

$1739 to the door. That's the HD SE with the black finish option.

Purchase was a while ago, so I have no idea what site gave me the best number for the price match.

Diamondback's factory is reasonably close to me so I could have just picked up the cover direct, but they would not do the deal at that price. They were super-helpful, however, and cheerfully answered all my questions.

I do believe that no matter who takes your money, the cover is drop-shipped from the factory.

Sounds good, thank you. I'm fairly close to the diamondback factory myself but I figured I could find a better price online. Was it shipped to your house or did it need to go to a loading dock?

Autocustoms is going to be the corporate name of Tonneaucoversworld. Diamondback does require every one of their dealers to drop ship. So expect a lead time for the products. Yes, we can normally ship it directly to your door as long as you are able to unload the product. You will need to be home as every diamondback cover is shipped via freight.

Right to the house (barn actually). Comes on a pallet. Truck had lift gate, so I didn't have to do anything special to get it off. Company called to arrange convenient time. Good experience.

Here's what I like: easy one-man install (even for an "older" retiree like my self), no leaks, 1600 lb. deck load capacity, and tailgate opens with cover closed.
