Started taking stock of some incomplete details and parts. @EDDO and @Crom and I have been discussing issues with the 4x innovations HD shackles. Eddo alerted me to interference with Dakar leaf tips caused by the gusset between ears. They have a redesigned shackle with the gusset moved to the back edge of the ears, and Adam will be sending a replacement. But there are some other issues to sort out with bolts and bushings and bushing sleeve compatibility. I'm rather stunned to find that the OME bushings do not completely fit flush with the leaf eyes. Yay.

 

maybe the gap is on purpose - reduce a source of squeak.

 

We'll see. BAMF also has a new HD shackle that is more refined, IMHO, and Jerry Does Not Fuck Around. As a year old purchase NIB on the 4x, my only option with Adam was exchange for his redesigned version, not a refund. If it doesn't please me, I'll get Jerry's.
