In the first gen manual, everyone complains what a short gear first is. But guess what. It was a truck that was good at that.

Heavy trailer I could see. Hence my aircraft comment. I used to use a variety of pickups or actual tugs to move the Sea Fury around, which is approx 14,000. Sometimes I was pushing, sometimes I was backing into the pits, depending on the equipment du jour. It has a wide wing span and tail swing (tail dragger), and I had to aim right for specific ground marks in the pit without tear off any wingtips so we actually had room to get around the damn thing. Add increasing masses of oblivious looky-loos as race week progressed. There were many times that 2 low, especially in a tight maneuver, would have been a help.

Gear issue during taxi. That was when we had the plane dialed going faster than it ever had before, 2003. The last time it was running really fast was on 9/11, when the Air Force announced that any plane leaving the ground would be shot down immediately, no questions asked. We were super competitive at this point, with some super bad luck.
