I always figured he just toed the line a bit and occasionally straddled it.

Don't think so, if by straddle you mean.....

    Then yes, you are correct.

I'm just talking about the garage. I've got enough space to build at least a 24x24 detached to my spec. with additional space on top for a bonus room of some sort.

"Additional bonus space" also referred to as the parts warehouse. Congrats on the move in a different direction, takes guts. Hope you were able to flip for a gain.

Thanks, Rob. We are far less interested in financial gain than psychological, emotional, and quality of life gain. I just hope I can cover the fucking sales commission. But I'm working with an agent who is the best I've ever worked with (AND I'VE FUCKING WORKED WITH A FUCKING FEW :frusty::frusty::frusty:), and the loan officer too, who is actually a new neighbor. They make shit happen.

I told the realtor up front our situation (2 years of fuckery we need to escape), and I want an agent who is willing to cut me some relief on the commission in one way or another. She is, and in fact already put up some of her own cash/credits just to help us through closing costs and inspections on the new house. She said for selling the old house, she will flat out credit us a specific amount, with more to come depending on the specifics. I'm just trying to find time to get it prepped and listed ASAP. Luckily, my FIL is awesome and handy and retired and will be able to knock out many minor things.

Sounds like the right choices;money is just a tool, not an end goal.

Yeah, to help matters, dad just passed away, my sister has been (*^%$(^$(%^) and my company was bought by another, and merging the two has been like watching two old locomotives collide and we've lost a bunch of great experienced people and now I'm on the biggest politically challenging water project in CA.

The last 3 years have been a shitshow of magnitude I'd have never thought imaginable, because throw in your first kid and mom passing away near the beginning of that.

There's more, but I'm not going to turn this into Dickbook.

Really sorry to hear about your Dad, that's a tough one that takes nothing but time to deal with and get over. It's like I know, I could use just one more iron in the fire...FUCK. Hang in there, it will get better.

Cheers. He had a great life and faced it without fear, surrounded by family and friends in his home, just as he wanted. He and I had a good one-on-one when he was first diagnosed, and that has tremendously helped me bear this out.

Things are already better, because we faced so much uncertainty. Now things are past and more certain, both with him, and with our home. we are getting closure on huge issues. We are so happy with the new place, and new neighborhood, it is all quite surreal in the best way possible. Ben love the new place too, and even the cat seems be less of a dick.
