    Don't visit this thread for a few days and then... wow, just wow.

    On the Subaru front definitely test drive all three (Outback, Forester, Crosstrek). We thought we were getting an Outback but for us in the end we greatly preferred the Forester. Obviously others would reach a different conclusion. Point being, only so much analysis can be done on paper.

    And just sell that VW POS to Horst with the still broken glove box and be done with it. I'm sure he'll know just the right things to do with it.

    On the Jetta front, I just attempted snapping together a repair piece I used JB Weld on and I was sure would just fail on install because of the pressure and deflection needed to seat the hinge tabs.

    It did not fail.

    Holy shit.

    Another, larger one on a different piece did fail, but not on the JB Weld. It broke in "virgin" plastic.
