I have an 05 DCLB TRD that was "top of the line in 2005" according to my salesman. However, i have no steering wheel controls and the CC is just the little stick behind the wheel.

Did 2005's come with steering wheel controls as an option? If so, i think the wiring would be in my wheel and i could add that option. Let me know, 2005 owners!

I doubt they did, my brothers 2007 didn't come with that

EDIT: his was a SR5, not TRD model. That may be the difference.

I don't think Bluetooth was available in 2005. I was driving a pretty loaded '05 Dodge 2500 Diesel in 2005 and even that truck didn't have any kind of aux port or Bluetooth, let alone steering wheel controls. I know OT, but was just trying to illustrate that the tech for those kind of features just weren't really around yet.

Perhaps on some high-end makes & models like Mercedes, BMW and Porsche but even those I doubt. My wife had a 2008 Mercedes ML350 and even that didn't have Bluetooth.

You got the steering audio controls only if you got the upgraded audio system with the 5 disc cd changer or JBL audio system. Doesn't matter if SR5 or TRD.

The 5 disc audio system was a $200 option and that gave you steering wheels controls. The sad thing is if you were to add the steering wheel controls yourself, it would cost around $500 for new the control pad, clock spring, and air bag . Someone on here did it tutorial on it.

My '05 had steering wheel controls, and I was pretty jazzed about it at the time.

My '05 DCLB has steering wheel controls. I also recently added a Bluetooth module that attaches to the radio's rear auxiliary/cd changer port. Works great. I can control calls and music using the channel up/down on the steering wheel or radio, and activate voice commands by pushing Scan twice.

My dad has an 05 with steering wheel controls. It does not have the cd changer or Bluetooth but it does have the JBL radio with sub behind rear seats.

So, to answer your question, yes 05 do have steering wheel controls but only with JBL radio.
