Did the Second Gen grill design change before 2012? Somebody is selling a grill and says it's for "08 and newer". It sure looks a typical 2nd gen grill.grill.jpg

They did change the design slightly from 2011 to 2012. Nothing significant but they did make small changes to the headlights, grill etc. I don’t see why it wouldn’t fit any second gen though.

Thanks for the response. The seller was so adamite about it when I question him, it thru me off, like it was a trick question, I really don't think he knows what he has He wants $70.00 for it. Yay or Na?

Haha ya he probably just doesn’t know. I’d offer him like 50 and see what he says but it’s in pretty good condition either way so not terrible price

I'll do that. He probably ruined his truck/engine from running all that STP crap seen in the photo.

i installed this 2011 grill on my 06 today. absolutely zero issues and fitment is perfect. so if they changed anything it’s negligible.

What kind of cosmetic changes did they make in 2012? Photo?

I replaced the stupid looking chrome grille on my 2011 Tacoma in 2017 with the color matched grille in the photo below. Getting the old one out was easy, but there was nothing easy about installing the new one.

Thanks for the photos. To me, that’s not a minor cosmetic change in the grille.

It’s not, the parts listed above cannot be mixed but you can swap up or down with the addition of a hood. The fenders are the same from 05-15(short of flared or not).

    so you can put a 12-15 setup in a 05-11 or a 05-11 set up on a 12-15.

chrome grill wall art off my 07. Maybe it's the camera angle but it looks like the outer "wings" are different between these two pictures.

I can think of a lot of better things to hang on my walls. :D I got lucky as a member of this forum bought my chrome grill off me, I think before I even installed the new color matched grille.

I thought there was something in the rules here that TW members don't unload chrome on other TW members? :notsure:
