I got no notice either by service advisor or on my detailed invoice (I had a couple other things done) from the warranty replace of the fuel pump. But, I swear the truck shift points have changed. Another mystery of life with a Tacoma.

This was my story. It took me a second time with the TSB in hand for the WOT issue and when I got it back, it drove like a completely different truck. Much, much better.

my appointment for the fuel pump recall is this Thu. I will update the thread regarding the fuel tank (whether they will drain and refill) and TSB ECU version.

So just got my truck back from dealer with a new fuel pump in it (I suppose...) and I checked the ECU ID and it wasn't changed so guess some dealers go the extra mile and others don't give a ratz azz...YMMV.

Dealer did not update my ECM. Fuel pump was done several months ago and I just updated to flash @PapaRee’s Kruiser and KDMax tunes.

Dealer also did not mention fuel level for fuel pump recall. Think mine was still pretty full when it went in but they didn’t bitch about it.

Nope. I had kdmax 6.0 when they did fuel pump recall this week. No updates.

I see a lot of talk about people having the whole fuel pump replaced. I asked my dealer and they said only a part of that pump needed replacing, and the entire pump was not replaced. What's the actual part being replaced for this?

That’s what happens when the battery is disconnected then after few hundred miles it will go back to what it was before. Enjoy it while you can or just tune with kdmax 6.0 to enjoy driving your taco forever. Pm @PapaRee or @TWTaco for more details.

Went in to force dealer to perform ECU update, they told me they could do the fuel pump recall as well. Was in an out in 4 hours with better MPG and responsiveness.

No, the dealer only does ECU updates on special requests. At least that's how my dealer does things.

I had my fuel pump recall done this past week, I ask them to see if their was a more current flash for my 2019 ( built 6/19). Service tech called me saying recall was done and service manager who has a Taco said “ that’s how they run, no new flash ...use the ECT button for better performance “. End of discussion. They gave me a page out of their tech summary asking if it did these things while driving up and down hills, I reviewed and said “yes”. Well, that’s a proper transmission performance in your truck. I got they feeling they didn’t want bothered. Nice, since I’ve spent over $100k in new Toyota’s at this place in the past 18 months.

Yes the dealer did both on my 2019 TRD O/R. Took them about 3 hours to replace the fuel pump and reflash the ECU. They were very friendly when I asked about it. The service advisor told me it's no problem to do the re flash and that it would take twenty minutes or so. I was going to pass the time looking at new trucks on the lot but they didn't have any inventory. Not a single new Tundra, Tacoma, or 4 Runner on the entire lot. This was Titus Will Toyota in Tacoma Wa.
Once I got my truck back, I noticed that it shifted and drove much better. So far I don't see any big difference in gas mileage. I was happy to get both the recall and the update completed.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Yea there’s no ECU update with the fuel pump recall. That being said, some dealers may just be doing red lashes because the health check shows one open.. we don’t. Unless requested.
