Guys, I'm at a complete loss here. I messed around with the gear position in the transfer case actuator. The rod is in the 2WD position, and the gear should be at the 2WD position, but the 4WD and 4LO lights are still blinking and nothing will engage...

Hang in there [OP]. At the risk of sounding like a complete Nerd here: In these two folks, IMO you have the 4x4 equivalent of Albus Dumbledor and Obi-Wan Kenobi working with you on resolving this.

Did you take the cover off and see where the contacts are actually at?

Yep. I’ve got the prongs at the 3 o’clock position when it’s installed. The prongs kinda line up with the bolt hole.

Almost at the opposite side close to I’d say 10 o’clock.

So it was off then, it should be pretty much lined up with the bolt at the connector side of the actuator in 2wd. About between 2 and 3 oclock as the actuator sits on the truck.

So if I just keep tweaking it, the 4WD lights should eventually stop blinking?

Ok curiosity got the better of me, as it sits on the truck with the actuator removed in 2wd here's where it should be.

It's actually slightly spring loaded so when you take the actuator off that's where it ends up.

It didn’t work. I put it in the exact same position with the rod all the way forward. Nothing.

May have to reset the ADD as well, have you checked that TL2 is now at 12v and TL1 is at 0v?

Now: Exercise this "Alien Space Ship 4x4 system from the old 'Lost in Space' TV show" that was born too many years ago (pre 2005 me thinks?) at least once per month even if it's just sitting still in your driveway: H2/H4/L4 and back. Do it a few times: You'll hear the difference between the first switch test and the last. Don't do this in the middle of nowhere on a USFS road 5-10 miles from the main drag or blow it off until it snows again... especially a L4 test. Trust me. Don't experiment with a shift to 4L if you don't have to unless you're parked in your driveway or at a gas station with a 'AAA' sign.

If you do this and you run it in H4 during rainstorms once in a while in the summer as well, we'll probably never hear from you again about this issue.

    Good job sticking with it!

Sage advice right there. Trust me, my 4WD system gets a workout where I live. If you, @TnShooter or @Dm93 ever find yourselves in the highest elevation city in North America of Leadville, CO, please hit me up. I owe yinz a beer at the very least.
