Personally, I find it good policy to never check on a vehicle price AFTER buying it. I avoid it like the plague, because nothing makes me feel worse than a bad deal, or the coulda shoulda's.

That said I don't think you did to baddly. Treat it like a > 100,000 mile truck and do your maintenance. Don't skip out on anything cuz you can't be sure what the previous owner forgot. Good luck to ya!

Yes, I bought it as described above. I've put about 1500 miles on it so far and it runs great so far. A buddy bought it and fixed it up for his daughter who didn't want a truck after all. I didn't want payments and 10k was all I could swing and had to have a 4dr 4wd for hunting. every other Tacoma I looked at was way more (14k avg) money than I had to spend. I was set on getting a 4runner but really needed a truck, so here I am. I'm happy so far.

    I think that's a smoking deal.

That's coming from my experience of the CA premium on these trucks

You did okay, not great. that truck is worth about 8,000 IMO.

I wouldn't pay more than 4,000 just because of the procrap lift.

That's ridiculous! Even at auction your looking at paying 10k+ for the truck you bought. Even with a little hail damage. I'm a dealer and I see 04 prerunners with 150k go for $10K at auction. So yes you did a great job, a tacoma is a tacoma and its well worth what you paid. $8k for an 04 with 130 on the dash will be possible, in about 10 years. Good buy!!!

Idk man I got my '01 5 years ago (so it was newer than yours) with 146k on it for 8k. It was absolutely perfect, but not a double cab. That's where I came up with 8k taking into consideration the hail damage and shoddy suspension mods.

The price is OK. The lift is kinda junky.

How bad is the hail damage?

Has the timing belt been replaced?

Timing belt has been replaced and hail damage isn't too bad. I'm gonna use it for a hunting/play truck for the most part. Thinking about upgrading the lift, even tho I said I wasn't gonna do anything to it. That lasted about a day,so I'm here for u fellas to show me what I need. Not the ride a lot of u fellas have but it's a start. Only regret is that I could've got it for 9k.

    That thing looks clean.

On the bright side, its a tacoma so it wont lose it's value. I'll bet you can get your money back for the most part 5 years down the road.

You did good man. Double Cab prices are insane. I paid 11K for my stock 01 double cab which was clean, no problems, minimal rust, with a few extra goodies.

I figure, from where i'm from, without the hail damage your truck would probably be selling for at least 12-13K. Some people might like buying a truck with a lift already installed, some feel it lowers the value. Nice rims though.

EDIT: Lol @ you thinking you aren't going to do anything to it. Spend any time on these forums and you won't be able to recognize that truck in a couple years.

Well you have a few options.

You can go with 5100's on stock coils to get about 2.5".

Or you can go with a set of aftermarket coils on 5100's or OME shocks. Eibach and OME are common brands for the coils.

Or if you want to drop panties on command, you could go with a set of coilovers from King.

Check out downsouth motorsports, toytech, and wheelers offroad.
