Was rolling thru a parking lot last night and I saw a puddle that i misjudged the deepness of and I had gone thru it twice since i was trying to take a shortcut but it led to a dead end, on the 2nd pass the water splashed so high im a little worried about water ingestion/damage. I checked the airbox after i got home 5 minutes later and there was a few droplets of water in the box and on the filter but mainly dry. the puddle was about 2.5 to 3 ft deep. Truck seems to be ok right now, Any advice?

You’re fine. The intake is shielded from water intake from splashing as such.

Mostly electrical shit that nobody cares about.
The depth of the water was probably fine, but you were certainly going a little fast for it. I'd argue that slow is the way to go in deep water. The added momentum of going fast won't exactly prevent stalling or get you any further if you do flood the engine and you risk damaging the plastic components above the skid's level.

You’re going a bit quick there buddy, chalk it up as a lesson. And then you always got to remember to push the water and not make it splash as such

i think the location of the intake is supposed to shield from splashes but prolonged submersions is another story (i think, not 100% sure though). the thumbnail looks worse than the actual video though so i wouldn't worry about body panel or anything either.

The fender liner is what shields the intake from taking in water (and dirt/debris) for the most part. Creating a big splash might let a bit get through but not enough to hurt anything. If you remove the fender liners for bigger tires or something then you could easily get into trouble hitting water like that.

But yeah, submersion is another story

NEVER deeper than top of tire unless snorkel equipped. In addition, go slow! No splashing. Do that and you will be fine. Don't do that and you could learn an expensive lesson, like how much an engine costs.

he was in an out of the deepest water in less than 5 seconds. no measurable amount of water could get in to the diffs in that amount of time..

I say that if you have to to ask, the answer is usually yes. You should be fine, the air intake is high enough to not suck in that much water.

Fuck it. Warp nine the fucking ponds and enjoy life. Just gun it all the way home and sleep tight. Can’t be a pussy all the time in life. Gonna replace the truck some day might as well be today.
