Go measure that on the front and side of your truck and get a vision of what you are claiming.

I'm betting no way it was that deep.

    Drive on McDuff.

Did anyone else notice @0.03 in the video, if you slow it down to 0.25 speed, looking right into that side window, there is a family sitting on pool floats eating dinner that is being served on a wood pallet?

Went back this morning with a tape measure and used the waterline stain on the adjacent building and the trailer tires to get an estimate. it was all drained out by then.

I worked myself up pretty well for this crossing. Got there only to find the rail company had filled it with gravel! A little anticlimactic but probably for the best given it was brand new. Ended up letting my wife drive to build her confidence.

Op should be fine. You can't compress liquid water so if any gets in the combustion chamber its a sudden stop and he'd most likely would have been towed.

Hopefully there won't be a next time, but chances are there will be, so to add to the OP, start your water fording slow at 2mph and work your way to under 5mph. I've forded many flooded roads with my TOYOTA trucks and T4R(s) with water just coming over my hood and never an issue. Not wise to do, but I've been lucky.

    Stay safe

Hahaha, when I was there, the water level was really high and my truck was a few weeks old (stock). I walked halfway through with a stick and the water was up past my belly button and I decided that discretion was the better part of valor. I went around. haha.

Like OP, It was the second pass for me. I went through, looked back and no one followed.
So I had to cross again.

I'm new to the tacoma gen 3 drive lines.
i like the Mojave river xing videos.
could see myself doing that, but maybe apprehensive if alone.

    regarding bearings, etc
what length of time -duration of deep water immersion increases risk of damage to wheel and axle bearings on tacoma gen 3
i had old ford ranger solid axle system that needed routine disassembly and lube after getting stuck in mud or water for short time. Needle bearings fell apart.
    Are tacoma grease locations watertight?
    just wondering.

you are good had a situation where it was nearly over the hood and I was still good to go. Wouldn't recommend taking it that high often but once every now and then is fine
