Correct flat rate of the labor rate. If the labor rate is 4 hours and you get it done in 2 hours you get paid for the 4 hours the labor rate is and then you can bring in another job. The more jobs you can bring in and complete in a day the more you’ll make.

    Canniot say
Some the rams look nice. My neighbor has one and I have to say it”s a nice looking truck. It sucks getting stuck with a problem child. My Prius had zero issues that is why I went Toyota Tacoma, that and the rep the Tacoma has. I was hoping to avoid ever going back to the dealership. I am more of a Honda person, but their quality had dropped since 2015. Had a manual transmission civic went to hell and back. I think it finally ended up as a delivery vehicle at around 280,000 miles with a blown head gasket, but it still purred like a kitten. That thing was next level beast reliability.

I think Toyota”s quality is dropping just like Hondas. Look at the v6 3.5 with coolant bypass. Save a few dollars and cost the owner thousands. Disgusting! Rav4 hybrid and Rav4 prime corroded cable, costing thousands of dollars to replace. Some owners paying upwards of $5000 to have it replaced.

Non, add in the shitty dealer experience and you got an ultra shitty experience.

Yes. That is correct. This is why hard to troubleshoot work can suck or jobs that take too long and pay too little. This also can lead to poorly done rushed work which usually ends up costing the customer more money down the road. It does does depend on the mechanic doing the work, some just are awesome and some suck.

Ram wouldn’t honor their warranty with me. They blamed my lift and tires for everything. My vehicle would come to stop after turning into traffic. Like the throttle wouldn’t read me stepping on it and it would lock up into park and force me to shift to park then drive. Very scary in traffic

I did. That one was 45min from me. Shit too. They just have terrible customer service. This one actually acknowledged the problem unlike the other idiots who had it 4days. Other shop noticed it in 5min and blamed lift and tires. Although no other rams ever act that way.
They also scratched my truck repairing a faulty third brake light leak that caused so much mold growth. So that was fun too.

Yeah, they will try to weasel their way out of anything, using every excuse, Toyota and the others will do the same. I had a Chevy cavalier that the transmission torque converter would lock up when coming to a stop. Think manual and never using the clutch pedal :)

Haven’t had an issue with Tacoma. Glad I got this now. Only thing was tuning it. Now it’s ok to drive just hella diff from having my hemi haha. Way different. Way smaller also. But I’m having fun modifying it and I’m doing a lot of it myself. Instead of wasting 7k like I did on my ram.

They just rush and then they pass their screw-ups on to the customer. They will deny, deny, deny and lie to the customer just gives up. I call it passing the buck.

Spent $500 on rentals cuz they wouldn’t give me a loaner while they diagnosed my issue. Made me email my receipt to beg for reimbursement. And they did on one not other time. I listened to manager blast his employees on sales floor screaming… that’s how they handle business I guess… poorly.
Over 20 trips in 2yrs and 4parts replaced, and 40hrs of my time wasted.

I think the only real concern with 3.5 is the coolant bypass, but I did not do much research into the 3.5. It just can be expensive to fix.

Dam, now that sucks. This what I do not want to go through. I call it dealership roulette. Did you feel like taking a shower every time after leaving the dirty dealership?

Lmfao, driving in and seeing this poor service advisors face… he said he’s worked over 15yrs with the company and never owned a ram, dodge, chrysler, or jeep… was my clear sign to change course haha.

You literally just said that you didn't go to the bay and in an earlier post said you drove right on up to it... I never said that you were not being courteous or that you were holding up the drop-off bay.

It made a noise... Big deal. That doesn't mean that your truck is unreliable. Every. Single. 3.5. Owner. has noises. Toyota makes noisy engines. For all you know it could be something loose vibrating in the engine bay. Just because it is making a noise does not mean that it will explode in your driveway out of nowhere.

If the labor rate is 4 hours to do a job and you make $25/hr and you do it in the time allotted or faster you’re still getting $25/hr for the 4 hours the labor rate is. If the job is rated at 10 hours and you take 10 hours to do you get paid your rate for the 10 hours. And trouble shooting and seized or broken parts are just labor hours billed and not included in the job rate.
