Guys, I’m installing airbags with daystar cradles on my truck. The instructions say to cut the bump stops off level with the top of the u bolts. So that’s what I did. But it looks like I got into the leaf spring center bolt. I can’t remember if that’s what this is. Dakar springs.

Looks like you are getting into the top of the pin, but as long as you don't cut off the nut, you should be fine.

I think it’s ok. I just skimmed the top of the nut.

Maybe next time I’ll use a hand saw instead of the sawzall. I might have time think before I do something so blatantly stupid.

I meant- your cut appears too deep. I dont think you are supposed to hit the leaf spring bolt at all. Trying to be helpful.

Anyone here- please correct if I am wrong.

Meh. Just smack it with a hammer to mushroom the threads. It's fine.

    A few minor things...
It might be that you had aftermarket leafs and the kit is specifying the depth based on the OEM leafpack. Might be wrong, but this could be it!

I think you'll be fine. The threads above the nut probably just hold onto the bumpstop. Wouldn't worry about it considering the cradles are thick and cover that area.

I wouldn't bother. Even cutting the pin with the saw is enough to mangle the threads to the point it shouldn't back off
