Sake of argument let's assume you did overpay about 3K (just a number I pulled out of my skull). Driving something in there that needed at least that in work to trade I think you are more than okay. Would you have spent for those repairs? Even if so it wouldn't be cheap.

Generally I've encouraged people to keep what they have if it just needs a little here and there nowadays but those items aren't just a little.

I am curious; what exactly are you basing this statement on? And what do you mean by "soon"?

Best thing you can do is stop listening to other people and reliving a decision on a ship that has sailed. What's done is done. We all have mitigating circumstances and inevitably, once we commit to a purchase, something better pops up.

    Go enjoy your new truck.

1st time I ever priced a Tacoma new I thought MSRP was overpriced. Then I looked at the price of used Tacomas, and also thought the used prices were overpriced. Ever since that day, I have held the opinion that all Tacomas are overpriced.

The market is the market and that market will always have its price. The inflated market is crazy now, but I still think those old market prices were too high.

Who knows what kind of BS that gets discussed on Reddit? I wouldn't pay it any mind.

i can only comment on prices when i was looking 2019 but i think that truck could be had for 28k new. Add all the "upgrades" its debatable if they add any value but if you like the add ons it will save you money but those miles knock it down a few.

    not really a fair comparison.

That's like saying I "overpaid" for the house I bought last year compared to the price from 1985. I paid "more" but I didn't "overpay". I paid the going rate with the current market.

Now, if the guy right in front of you paid $5k less for the exact same truck, then yeah, you overpaid.

They're making more *per vehicle* but it's better overall to sell more vehicles.

unless you consider soon to be several years from now, then no, it will not. vehicle production will not be increasing anytime soon. these trucks and all other cars will only become harder to get.

It’s a crazy time right now, it’s easy to look back and think that you could’ve done better and you probably could’ve but at this point it doesn’t really matter, enjoy your truck!

Stop reading any post in this or any other forum.

Enjoy the truck. Research values before you buy the next one.

They're gonna have to find a happy medium.

    What would you rather sell

    9 trucks at $1,000 each

    3 truck at $3000

    6 trucks at $1750

Well obviously 6 at $1750. Not only did you make a little more, but you also have more vehicles out there coming back to get serviced.

Home loan interest rates are rising, significantly. We're going to see a mini 2008, maybe not so mini, there's no way for a normal person like me to be able to tell how bad the impact is going to be, but I can tell you a lot of homes are going to go on the foreclosure lists. While these are not cars, everything is tied together. You can expect to see great deals on vehicles because very few will be buying. Its kinda difficult to justify buying a new truck when you just had to sell your $300k home for its actual price of $200k to keep you from going bankrupt.

On another note, maybe vehicle manufacturers already know the crash is coming and they're purposefully making less vehicles so that they don't stay on lots. Maybe the government gave them the heads up so they don't have to bail them out again.

You got a reliable truck that will last a long time if you take care of it. Buying a used German car (regardless of the price) - now that would be something to regret. You are fine. Reddit is mainly bullshit.

Well, soon is subjective, like "a lot" is subjective. $10 million dollars for me is a lot of money for me, for some $100 million isn't considered "real" money. All I can tell you is that pretty soon there will be an economic down turn. People will be selling their over priced homes for a lot less than they paid for them and their vehicles will probably go first.
