Using the below linked online calculator, and filling in the approximate interest rate (2.85%?), if you round up to $600 a month, you'll pay it off 4 to 5 months early and save around $200. For me, paying off loans early so that you can start saving for the next vehicle is worth it. Try and scrounge up another $100 to make the payment $650, and you shave off about 9 months from the length of the loan.

These loans are front loaded on interest, so it's more about paying off early than saving money at this point (although $200-400 savings over the long term is worth going after).

    https://www.bankrate.com/calculators/auto/early-payment-payoff-calculator.aspx

Once you do pay it off... put the amount your payments were into a savings account marked for the downpayment of your next vehicle. Then you won't be in this shitty 6 year payment hell again.

Preparation and education is how you don't get screwed next time.

Maybe slightly high. But when it comes down to it what could you have paid, maybe $2k less? Its not that much in the grand scheme of things, its not like dealers are knocking $5k off msrp for these trucks.

In November 2017 I paid $34.2k for my new 17 trdor dcsb. It came with Navi, running boards, tonneau cover, tint, and clear bra/door guards.

I financed through Toyota at 0.9%. Zero down payment.

Someone told me they bought their 2017 for $5k below MSRP through Costco. I'd definitely research that if I was in the market for a new taco.

OP. Let it go, enjoy your truck!

41 out the door for a fully loaded 17 TRD OR DCSB with a 7 year platinum warranty and 1,000 in dealer accessories in Wa state. I think you might have paid a little more than me, but your truck holds it’s value like iron. Drive it for 2-10 more years and resell for a stupid high price.

Paid $35K for a 17' TRD OR DCSB, No tech package here in Seattle. With tax, title, license and extended warrenty I want to say it was $41K Doesnt sound like you got taken to the cleaners or anything just normal price for the truck.

When I bought mine none of the dealers I went to were willing to come off sticker price. I was okay with the price though and not willing to waste all day over getting it under sticker. Some times your time is worth more than the hassle of getting a good deal. There are people on here wasting weeks worth of time to get several thousand off.......I would rather work an extra weekend to cover it than argue with a car salesman.

pretty sure we all got taken no matter what we paid if you think about the profit made on the other side of the equation. That's life. Gotta pay to play.

Noone that buys a new vehicle gets a "good deal". You just hope to get a deal you can live with. I love my truck so I can live with it.

If you really like the truck, then that’s what matters. Think of all the domestic crap out there that depreciates horrifically moments after purchasing. Be glad you paid good $ for a great truck. It’s all relative.

Before I bought mine, I read so many stories around here of people getting theirs at screaming deals with zero interest, with the dealer throwing in this and that and yada yada. I armed myself with that info. And searched every single dealer inventory in a 500 mile radius. At one point I could tell you exactly who had which colors at which dealerships. I tried to negotiate with dealers via email. In person. etc.

I ended up getting mine at $500 over invoice, with a fair trade on my 4Runner. I didn't get the screaming deal I've read about around here. But I got a solid deal. I'm convinced that these screaming deals are the exception to the norm, and some are just people looking to impress us. I got a good deal on a great truck.

Maybe I paid a little more than some? maybe I didn't? I love my truck and I dont really care about a couple extra bucks a month here, or a thousand dollars over the next several years. At some point it wasn't worth my time to keep waiting and digging.

In So Cal no one gets a good deal... cause TACOMAS SELL!! they are all marked up over the MSRP.. all you need to worry about is getting a low rate and even that's hard in California... hard to haggle the price of Tacomas.. I work for TMS and my 4x4 Off Road fully fully loaded was MSRP 41K on the lot... but my price was only 35K .. i know I'm the exception here... im not bragging but if you love Tacomas its always worth it...

Maybe. Most car loans are simple interest not compounded so early or not they get their interest. Convert it to a mortgage backed or securities backed loan and pay down early, but the conversion fees and flexible rates can easily offset that too. Agree totally to save for the next one first. Then even if you get a zero percent loan the principle is invested to draw from.

I totally agree. I had to pay $550 to get mine shipped from another dealership but I got EXACTLY what I wanted. Will have the truck for at least 15 years so in the long run, who cares. I agree on the supposed "deals" that have popped up from time to time. But no real details to back them up. Plus pricing on cars is sooooooo BS to begin with.

You got a great truck. Drive it like you love it and enjoy it. And of course mod it.

Did you pay too much? Maybe....depending on what the market was at the time you bought it. Sounds like you paid MSRP, which thousands of others did at that time, just like you. Enjoy the truck. Maybe you can refinance it and save some money on the payment and interest paid.
