I’ve always ran my vehicles about that long or less about the time to clean up and put everything away never had any issues with any of the vehicles, what’s the reasoning for not running a vehicle that long after an oil change?

If you have leaks or aren’t building pressure you won’t blow your engine.

You'll be fine. The engine wasn't put under any load. Just drain all the oil, change the filter, and refill to proper level. Mistakes happen, move on.

LOL at those with apparent reading comprehension issues. Do you guys even read the posts before replying? Jeez!

The reason why I haven’t been on TW lately it seems the newest trend is how much of an idiot can we make the next guy look. Hope the engine is fine OP.

Ok hang on. I want to hit pause on this thread for a second because no one has asked, what that other oil he drained out was.

OP, you may want to check your transmission fluid level right now before you drive it, because if you did drain out oil and double filled your engine you pulled the classic drained the tranny pan dry and filled the engine oil thinking you did an oil change mistake that happens on the forum every once in a while.

I think you be okay. Just drain oil pan and fill again with new filter.

    Yeah and check you tranny.

If I am understanding his post correctly he drained just the filter, not any oil from any pan but I could be wrong.

Think of it. OP has a concern. His concern also could have been wrong oil, not enough oil, where is the oil, did I put oil in, etc. We all have brain farts. If you run the vehicle for 30 seconds before rechecking the level you'd have done 4:30 less damage than letting it run for 5 mins. Anything less than 30 seconds may not be enough time for pressure to fully build etc.

That is more so my thinking (not enough time to build up realistic oil pressure), but you make a good point.

That's correct. I initially only drained from the filter, not the pan. I'm almost positive I didn't drain the transmission but after today, it wouldn't put it past me lol. I'll double check.

Sounds to me like the OP just had a bad morning and forgot to pull the drain plug and only drained the filter

Your not going to have more oil pressure just because you have more oil. Your down fall is you did not have splash from crankshaft hitting pool of oil bottom of pan because it was submerged in oil. Crankshaft splash is for parts above crankshaft to help lubricate.
