If some one is dumb enough to follow those stupid directions, well I guess as some one already said, stupid is as stupid does.

Let it be and go 20,000 miles before your next oil change? :notsure:

I've seen it before on a 2GR, caused a huge misfire, the problem went away once the level was evened out.

Does anyone know exactly what happens to your engine if you overfill (substantially) and why it will damage your engine?
First one to get it right wins 100 internet points to spend at a website of your choice..

Screws with the oil pump pressure and then oil pump doesn't work, thus no oil pressure.

Go find my point in the other post. Then, if you decide you still feel like being a cunt you may argue with me.

Close. There are antifoam additives included in the additive pack in your oil so no foam. Your crank will aerate the oil and make honest to goodness big bubbles. Your oil pump will now suck a combination of air and oil or "froth" as you say. Now instead of key areas having oil as lubrication you could have air as lubrication. Not good, as this will lead to heat and metal on metal contact, as there is no more boundry layer.
OP, the good news is there was no load. The bad news is you let it run for five minutes.
You could have shortened the life of your engine substantially and you won't know it until later. Or, it might have no damage. The only way to truly know is take it to a shop and let them examine a few key parts for accelerated wear. Sorry man and good luck.
    100 points to @Jamesboy2233!

Blackstone? Check for excessive wear indications after you drive for a bit?

I seriously doubt that 5 minutes was long enough to aerate the oil to a degree that you lost oil pressure, and if you did I would think the oil pressure alert indicator would be screaming at you.
    I wouldn't worry at all.

Overfilling oil is the leading culprit for a blown main-seal, for a start. ...And the OP really, really, really overfilled. Keep an out for seeping oil on your seals, OP.

Delete this shit... drain the oil. Fill it with the correct amount and cross ur fingers it didn’t:

    • Engine damage such as bent rods in the engine or collapsed valve pipes.
    • Catastrophic engine failure where the engine sustains enough damage that it cannot be repaired, but must instead be replaced.
    • Excess engine wear from inconsistent oil pressure over time.
    • Spark plug fouling, resulting in the need to replace spark plugs more frequently.
    • Excess oil deposits in the catalytic converter.
    If you got:

    • Oil leaking from your car
    • Smell of burning engine oil
    • Smoke from the engine compartment
    • Smoke or black exhaust from the tailpipe
    • Unusual noises coming from the engine

Go get it looked at... don’t tell them what u did lol

If you were doing 100 mph and the pressure rose from excessive blowby due to a bad pvc not venting maybe. How did his pressure rise in the crankcase in the driveway at less than 1000 rpm ? What happened to front main seal ?
    No way.

I got it out and up to 60mph without any issues. Popped the hood when I got home with it running and nothing out of the ordinary so maybe I'm in the clear. :fingerscrossed:
