    Fuk, didn't realize they did this. I just sent an email to the board of REI telling them this is so wrong. Guess I will keep my money in my pocket. I love(d) REI, but I hate retailers getting into politics.

    There is some study making the rounds that the "Post-MIllinials" (current college/high school kids) are more loyal to a brand that takes and shares a public political opinion. So, companies are catering to broke ass kids that can't afford to buy anything anyways, while alienating the folks in there 30s-40s that have money and families to buy stuff for.

    I want restaurants to focus on food, retailers to focus on selling shit, and politicians to all burn in hell with lawyers. Is that too much to ask?

    unfortunately Dicks sporthing goods, REI, field and stream, Wal mart, LLbean and Kroger (Fry's) have all agreed on the same crap.

    Walmart only agreed to raise it's ar15 sales age to 21. They don't want to loose the almighty dollar, so they will continue to sale everything. Also, if they do decide to stop selling Vista Outdoor products, is only so they can sell the same thing with the Wally logo on it.


    On a different note, I just recently noticed Costco took down all it's "No Gun" signs. Maybe they did it a while ago, but I just noticed.

    It is amazing what a well written letter to a company can do. I have surprisingly received a lot of positive responses from companies. If you are an REI member, I highly encourage you to write to the board of directors in regard to this issue. A few suggestions: 1) Keep it professional, and 2) Pick one topic and stay on it. I choose to write about them getting involved in politics at all, I will not win a gun debt over email, nor will I be taken seriously by them if I go that route.

    They responded to a petition of 24k people (maybe members, maybe not), if we can flood the Board with 24k+ MEMBERS saying they are done with them until this decision is reversed and we plan to fire them all come the next board elections. They have to do something. 24k members is only 0.4% of the total membership of REI (roughly 6 million).

    Thanks @Chipskip , I modified your letter and sent one in as I live very close to the Chandler store and have been a member for years. I don't usually purchase much from there as they are over priced but it is nice to have a store close by.

    Funny story about Costco, I am friends with the guy that caused that no guns sign dilemma. He was at his local Costco and they threw him out on the grounds of being a "PRIVATE CLUB" but he pointed out that there were no signs. They threw a fit, he mentioned NRA lawyers, and then they put signs in state wide lol.

    I agree they are overpriced. I will say I got my girlfriends deuter 55L pack for 140 which was cheaper than anywhere else but it was on one of those sale days. I’m against the NRA too. I’m not against guns. I just believe there need to be better laws implemented :cool:

    This will decline rapidly, I suggest we move along lol.

    We need to enforce the laws we already have before we dump more laws. That is all. The NRA supports common sense gun control and are behind many of the laws we already have.
