From what I understand, the 881's are too light for a v6 DC. I have the 883, which are the same height as the 881, but a higher spring rate to support extra weight. I also have a winch and bumper though. 882's are a lighter spring rate than 883, heavier than 881, but taller than both. Clear as mud?

So 883's would be what I need? Later on I would like a bumper as there's moron drivers down here and would like my truck to be in tact if I do hit them lol

Ok. I have no idea where my other post went. I've got Bilstein 5100 front and rear. 880 front coils. General Spring from Kansas City leafs in the rear. Daystar greaseable 1 1/ 4 inch lift shackles in the rear. Front Bilsteins are set at the middle groove. Rear Bill's with the rubber boot down.

I'd probably go with 883, but that's what I have now and I like it. Granted, my truck is heavier than yours because I have 4wd and a winch..if you were in Dallas I would let you ride in it to see how it feels

Is that just a double cab thing being side specific? Never heard of that before.

Nope. From the factory the driver side shock is about 1" longer on all 1st gen Tacoma's.

Driver side extends with the rear shackle, has long range of motion.
Passenger side extends with the front spring hanger, short range of motion.

Aftermarket shocks are usually equal length unless specified for application.

Sounds like 883s or Eibach 620# coils would be good for your front with no preload and maybe the OME CS046R 2.25in lift springs may be good for you. are the leafs

Nope, Brett already said it as well.... but all 1st gen tacos have mismatched rear shocks, one mount allows for more leverage (dampening) on the gas tank side.

C'mon Nola. . I'm not trying to be a jerk.

Aftermarket leafs and Bilsteins are side specific. Bend over and pay the price. Or make a bad decision. I know you don't have a ton of money. Do it right the first time!

What are you referring to? I know the Bilsteins are side specific. I was just asking about the leafs so that I know how much I will have to put aside to get what I need.

You're looking at about $1500. Shocks, coils, leafs and labor.

Not sure, we aren't planning one right now. My truck isn't in wheeling condition anyway at the moment
