An object of any sort is "worth" what someone is willing to pay for it. Is an old baseball card "worth" a few hundred thousand dollars? Hell no if you ask me, but people are out there willing to pay it so that's what the card is worth.

Thread after thread of guys whining about prices. It's not 1995 anymore. If your current job won't let you afford the shiny new object, get a better job.

Ya know, pull yourselves up by your bootstraps, work harder, quit looking for a handout. Isn't that what you're always telling the younger generation to do?

No one is saying it's 1995. The truth of the matter is inflation is through the roof. Many people work their butts off and don't get paid what they should. I'm sure many are working multiple jobs, so for to say to get a better job or work harder is pretty ridiculous.

Lowest model with no 4WD or anything.
Add towing, bsm and some other extras and it's 36K for the lowest model.
Tax title dest, dealer bs etc and your close to 40K.
Add another 15K+ on for limited and its close to 60K.
Can't believe people are arguing that this truck is cheap.

I agree, many people work harder for less and less. That's an economic and political discussion that we can't have here

I'm just saying, we're talking about shiny new trucks with crawl-control and backup cameras, not eggs and milk

They are priced that high because buyers have been willing to overpay for them. The real problem here is the consumer.

I don’t. I love it when people say work harder and make more money, but don’t acknowledge corporate or channel greed.

    That's American Toyota for you.

There are more than enough dumb people who know nothing about trucks or simply dont use it like truck and buy it for flex. Which is who Toyota is aiming for just as rest of the manufacturers.

It is kind of amazing that people don't connect the dots between high inflation and record corporate profits. We're getting squeezed on all sides while corporations rake in the money. We see high gas prices but don't see record breaking profits for oil majors quarter after quarter.

You sound like the salesman on the commercial with the low bare bone truck price, then when you get there that ONE is gone and only ones left are 15k more lol.
Are you a salesman / promoter for the 4th ? All of your posts are in 4th gen section.

Yes, corporate greed is the reason your wife won't let you buy the new Trailhunter with shock absorbers on the seats

$61k is not expensive. Not when you compare it to the cost of staying alive.
After buying stupid shit in my younger years. I'm now passing on the "luxury" items, in hopes that the money saved manages to "buy" me a few extra years in life.
But, as I said, It's a hope, not a guarantee.

i think you need to look at the overall average price over the years rather compare to the bone lowest now. All media sites I click say car prices are much higher today, and its true. That simple.

I see your point in reference to the 30k base truck post.

It’s wild, even the lower trims are pricey vehicles. They are really nice but so expensive. At least if they had Hilux-like GVWR…

You said base Tacoma, I showed you a base Tacoma. You are welcome to change to your mind but you decided to change the topic. I don't see this conversation going to any rational conclusion.
