On Kings website the lower mounts of the front coilovers are silver, most other pictures of the shocks I see are all blue. Did they change the 2.5s when the 3.0s became available?

2.5s should be the same but the 3.0s are definitely a different design where you adjust on the bottom now

Looks like they did go to a silver lower mount rod

Beefier rod end maybe? Didn't think they had any issues with the previous design, or maybe it's just an aesthetics thing.

Speculating; but as an accountant, 9/10 times it's a cost thing.

Note the lack of blue cover over the rod portion, and the lack of a housing around the bolt mount as compared to the old version. Saves man and material cost.

That was my main concern, I don't think I'd break either of those designs but what gives? This makes the 3.0s look better in comparison, but that shouldn't come as a compromise to the 2.5s .

That is a picture of the 2007+ Tundra coilover. The lower mount is steel on those.... they have clearance issues, so the narrower lower section of the mount is best to be made of it to maintain strength.

    Thanks

I was also thinking that was a picture of a different application.

I should have titled this thread... Talk me out of buying Kings.

Never. They'll change your life. Only substitute I would make is for ADS maybe.
