I have a brand new (sub 1k miles Taco) that will be getting regeared in the upcoming months. Seeing this post certainly does not rest easy with me. Poor Taco please keep us in the loop.

After all the 4wd on pavement explainers and discussion and gearing talk here, I think this is the first real T case issue? Or at least the first one with goo everywhere. I would not worry.

I do it on rainy days as the road is just slick enough to relieve my concern about the dry road.

OTOH, during winter in the northeast, there are ample opportunities to use 4WD.

    Yes. That was me.

I suppose that I should have added that I'm guessing it hole'd the T case in the process. Just a guess. The diff is close enough to spread lube back pretty far, but on to the muffler has me guessing T case is now vented. Purely speculative.

To all the people that keep asking if he was in 4wd on pavement, turning or not. How much more force is there on the 4wd system when fully locked front and rear, climbing and turning on a rock obstacle over and over and over again. I’m tired of seeing the question come up.

To be fair, I would have bought a Subaru Baja is they were still making them. Heck, I would have bought a Subaru Brat if they were still making those, too.

Oh man you even missed out on the Orange Chicken? That sucks. In all seriousness, it sucks this happened and I'm glad the shop appears to be concerned and sent over a tow. Keep us informed. We're hoping for a good resolution.

Something blew up, might be the ADD, front diff, or TC. Wish OP would have found source before sending it off.

I need a 2021 version. I am old and prefer comfort above all else. Man, I wish they still had that in their product line up.
