Did the shop that fixed my truck cheap out on certain things?

They never said anything about installing an alarm, and I've tested it, believe me, nothing goes off. If it is an alarm, why would at least 3 toyota specific plugs coming from a harness be unplugged, dangling, and the truck still run fine, this was a cheap hack job and I don't like people that lie for the wrong reasons, they had a job, and didn't fulfil the order.

I'm savvy but not that savvy, playing with electronics besides building my own computers is a no no for me, especially when it helps controls a 4k pound piece of steel, plus I don't like feeling bad vibrations, pretty much everything besides the block itself and passenger quarter panel up front was replaced.

If that indeed is the case, your challenge will now be to prove that the collision shop indeed did the hacking. That's why I'd get an independent expert (a good mechanic) to figure out exactly what's going on first. That will get you two things. First, it will verify - or maybe not - that it is indeed shoddy collision repair. Then you should get your insurance company involved ASAP. The other thing it will gain you - if it is not collision repair - is the ability to avoid getting egg on your face. This one is not going to be fun.

that's a good idea, the insurance company might send out an adjuster to look at the wiring mess and let them do the leg work in tracking down how it got all fubared up in there

Well then, this will be longer than expected, good thing I have a personal broker that handled everything between the changes, hopefully she has the info.

Although you need to get the original insurance company involved, I don't think it's as critical as the collision shop that did the work stepping up and honoring their warranty. Speaking of which, you might want to quietly find out just what kind of warranty they offered on the work.

Most of the warranties on the work are not offered by the shops themselves, but rather the Ins. Co. that s paying them. I know my Ins. Co. offers a lifetime warranty on any work done by their "preferred" shops. Best bet is to let the Ins. Co. know you are not happy.

I went through a repair debacle last summer. It took one call to my insurance to let them know how unhappy I was, they sent out a QC guy, who basically agreed with me and told the shop where to stick it and how to get it there. Took seven weeks, but I got my truck back in a condition that was satisfactory to me, not the shop.

When I had government take home vehicle I had to call local LE. They didn't want to come out to write a report on break in. Had to cite policy. Responding officer gave me attitude.

yes, next to parking brake. i had to pull off my dead pedal, then pull of rocker plate against lower door seal, then you can twist off that black plastic bolt thing lol and snap the panel out of place, hopefully you've done it before if you're willing to help? Thanks

The USB in the first pic is not factory. That goes to my speedo calibrator installed behind the gauge cluster. Everything else is bone stock.

See thats what mine is suppose to look like, you do see in my photos I have plugs that are just hanging, nothing connected to them? or am I trippin? What did they do, I dont understand a single thing, how about behind the little plastic drawer, are any of your fuses spliced to anything?

What is that far right plug plugged into? I wish I had see this all earlier, this is scaring me a little, and I usually don't get scared lol. Truck was just out of service for over a week total for repairs, this is looking like a few week job... if it gets done. Probably gonna bring it to Toyota tomorrow and have them take a look first, problem is they charge $139 just for looking, maybe I can sneak by and see if they can look for free.

Another pigtail (not really sure what it is or where it goes). They do that to make it easier to install and disassemble the vehicle by creating junctions in the harnesses. All of the plugs that are wrapped in the foam and have the zip ties are done that way from the factory and have been unmolested.

Good wording, "unmolested" ok hopefully Toyota can inform me on what to do and I'll contact the shop today too to schedule an appointment to have them take a look too.
