They'd have do redesign the whole body. But at that rate, I feel like with how big mid-sizes already are, they will be treading into full-size territory.

Potentially, but there is a lot of room under the seats, which has not been there on our last bunch of cars. I use it to stash my computer bag when parking in questionable areas. On the other side, it is perfectly sized area for my road atlas. It was too big for the seat back pocket and would flop around.

Things like 10 way adjustable seats is an example of why the price of a new truck just keeps going up and up and up.. Forget full size trucks. I agree with most here that you adjust the seat and leave it 99% of the time, sometimes my wife messes it up when she drives it and sure it takes a few try's to get it back to where I like it. Oh well.. A few moments. Geezz its a truck.. Its like first world problems… I get a few creature comforts is nice like power windows.. I guess personally id rather see improvements to the over capabilities of what a truck is meant for (work/hauling stuff/Dirt) if they are going to charge me up the a$$.. I don’t need a truck that rides/ feels like a luxury vehicle. But to each their own. I get a lot of truck owners don’t use a truck as a truck . I guess my biggest gripe is the more crap like this they put in the more they will inevitably drive up the cost.. Heck my truck doesn’t even have cruise control. Give me a base model, M/T, but with the off road/Pro suspension, locker ect..Skip all the luxury stuff like blind spot monitoring, power seats, power mirrors, apple car play bs..Keep the cost reasonable, you would have a perfect truck IMO..But that’s just what it is..Rant over..

Yeah. And since that didn't happen for the 3rd Gens, it ain't happening for a mid cycle refresh.

But, they could design some dipped rails with a limited range of fore-aft adjustment or have long overhangs to accommodate the floor ridge. Even then, you're only looking at gaining an inch.

I sort of think they will parts bin this though, esp as the 4th Gen will be happening in just two model years.

My wife's old mustang had a pretty low key seat. It had a tiny cylindrical motor the size of an Oreo under the seat that spun a single threaded rod. The seat moved at a rate of 1 inch per hour and the motor would give up if you weighed 150lbs.

    I’m with ya on that!
More “luxury” stuff means more to break.
Gimme the simplest most basic truck and I’m happy.
Realistically the only luxury item I like is a usb plug in. :p

I remember those from malaise era GMs.

I have a pretty universal butt, where I am usually happy with the seat at the lowest setting. I do like the legs forward position in the Taco.

That said, I do understand that the seat bottom needs some height adjustment as has been noted many times on TW. In fact, it was necessary to add spacers to keep my wife comfortable for more than a few minutes. Now, she's good for a couple hours.

You can have a truck and use it like a truck and still be able to have a seat that makes you comfortable at the same time. It is a simple electric motor and a threaded rod so it will still be extremely reliable too.

I'm tired of people complaining about the STUPID adjustable seats. Never liked them never will. Pain in the ass if they go bad and takes forever to move them if your cleaning the interior. Is a f***ing truck not a luxury car.

Power seats would have been a huge benefit for the wife and I . I am 5'11" and she is 5'1" and when we switch drivers , it is a pain because she needs it all the way forward and a pillow to sit on . My queen of 33 years is much happier with buttons like she has in our SUV , and 10 way seats .She asked the salesman in 2016 , why is this not available , we had it in 1998 ! We (she is ) are stuck with it now because I do not want to buy a new truck until this one is no longer reliable . I hear it every time she is asked to pull the boat out of the water . I am happy with the Tacoma , but WTF ? These Toyota answers about how they put the money towards other things is , well , not acceptable because these things are not new , but have been a staple for many years .
Not to pick on my queen , because after 36 years she loves to fish , cut the lawn etc. , and do the things I enjoy and instill it in the kids and grand kids , but I digress ………….

These posts, reminds me of the movie scene from “Trains, Planes, and Automobiles” when John Candy was fidgeting with the passenger power seat and broke the seat.

    Hahaha! Sort of.

I am even comfortable in steerage class aircraft seats. As much as I hate giving in, I've been flying Basic Economy because I am fucking cheap.

Edit: I'm also not small. A hair under 6ft and tipping the damn scale at 235lb Ubiquit-ass nekid.

The engines pretty good IMHO. It's a reliable one and its got alot of go. It's the transmissions that's tuned for torque and less for speed that's hurting our opinions.
