I'm looking online and it appears that Toyota doesn't allow you to build a manual TRD sport or Off Road package anymore. Is this the end of manual Taco goodness?

I ask because I'm desperately seeking a manual Inferno or Quicksand TRD Taco.

    Thanks

That isn't how the build a Tacoma website works.

You can only build a truck that already exists in your dealer region. If it doesn't show a manual, it's because there aren't any sitting on a dealer lot or on a truck headed there.

The Build a Tacoma website is meant to deliver buyers and interested parties onto dealership lots and sales floors. It isn't a legit canvas to configure a trucK exactly how you want it. It will literally only allow you to build what you can buy that day. If every dealer was sold out of access cabs, it wouldn't allow you to build an access cab - when clearly that exists.

I have a TRD Sport with MT. The build feature only allows builds against the plan, I ran into different builds available in different colors when I was doing mine. Try changing color or zip code (region) and you'll see different results

I don't know what this means - but changing your zip code is pointless.

Call every dealer within 50 miles and tell them you want that truck. They can find it for you, don't bother with the online crap.

I did my search over several hundreds of miles, ended up getting one 350 miles away. There are only two dealers within 100 miles of here, and neither were especially helpful. The difference in availability and price was significant

Thanks guys, I didn't realize the build only showed you what was available at the current time. That would explain why the manual options have disappeared. An access cab TRD with manual seems like a unicorn at this point.

I'm sure it's written in some fine print somewhere - I didn't know how it worked either until I called Toyota.

Great marketing tool, but leads to many issues and questions because the way it works isn't clear.

I had an uninformed salesman tell me in September or October that b/c a manual transmission did not show up on the build your Tacoma site that Toyota was just not going to make it. Even though I knew the 7559 WAS going to be an option, idiot. Still wish they made an AC TRD OR with a manual (for sale in the USA, that is...:canada:)..... >:-(
And I wish they made more of the white AC TRD Sports with a manual so I could get it into the local dealer allocation and buy one! :)

And then you have 10 numbnuts saying trucks are spec'd at different MPG because they don't pay attention to what model is being shown.

it took me about 3 months 3 dealers and one botched order that someone couldnt deliver on but yes i have a TRD OR MT. the problem is most of the MTs coming in people have ordered so they are already sold before they are delivered i just got lucky when i called on one that was already sold he said he had another one coming in 2 weeks that was sold yet so i jumped on it. good luck!

Weird. The Canadian site just lets you build and price every configuration that is available.

My DCSB 4x4 OR M/T was built today, supposedly. Told it would be here in a month.

Was the same way with the 2nd gen too. Go try it if you don't believe me. You can check out the inflated pricing and lack of configurations. Well, except for that access cab OR 6mt that you can't buy.
