They wouldn't let me leave the financing office until he went through all of the packages. Each taking about ten minutes with him describing scenarios that would need the warranty. But no I did not get any.

Nope. Wasn't worth it and the financial guy pushed too hard to sell it.

Nope. Only extended warranty I would recommend would be for a Fiat product. I know our Jeep got lots of use out of it.

This is my 3 cents on extended warranties: First, I never buy the EW during closing. The prices dealers offer are usually crazy high. Plus, you don't want to finance in a loan and pay interest on it for years, unless you are financing at 0%. Just remember you have 3 years or 36k miles to purchase one - so you have time to shop around. For me, I don't bite unless I can get a good deal like half off list or so with $0 deductible. Most will say it's a waste of money or gamble but for me its peace of mind which pays off in two ways: 1st - As most know, they give Peace of Mind knowing any qualifying repairs will be covered zero out of pocket. 2nd (which not many people think about) - EW's will add value on resale which helps the covered vehicle sell faster. I usually sell my vehicles with at least one year and/or 10k miles still left under warranty. (Toyotas EW are transferable for a $50 fee) I just add what I paid for the EW onto the vehicle book value and my cars/trucks have sold fast. So far, the buyers said the warranty is worth it and now they have Peace of Mind passed on to them for their purchase of a used vehicle.

I too am wondering if i should get the extended warrenty because of all the electronics. For those that are saying you know its expensive (around the $1200 range)wellup here in Canada they want roughly $2500. Should i even be considering it?

Very subjective. How long do you plan to own the truck? If you plan to own it beyond the standard coverage; how much longer? Do you log a lot of miles? $2500 seems f'ing crazy though.

Toyotas are such good running vehicles that it's a waste of money.

With my TRD PRO, they wouldn't budge on price, so I negotiated services. They provided bumper to bumper 100K miles, unlimited term for FREE. Never hurts to ask. (Granted, it's a Taco, so they likely won't have any need to fix anything)

Was forced to get gap and theft or no truck for me. Would have rather spend that on a warranty even if I don't really need it.
