I leased my 16 SR5 Access cab. Lot price was 34,500, payment is 242 a month, 2 year 12k miles a year, $3k down. buy out at end is 22,800. Main reason for lease was I drive 0.8 miles to work and dont expect to put miles on it. Had it since august 1, 16 and just went over 2500 miles. Maintenance covered is huge to me too. I have no intention (at this point in time) to buy it when done. I plan to go to dealer and drive home a new one. (plus I live in mass and we have excise tax yearly and toyota pays it and then give u 3 months to pay them back for what they paid.)

you can always go to a credit union and get pre-approved before your lease term ends.. you really dont have to go to the dealer and finance through them if you dont already know.. credit unions give the best rates overall.. dealers are the worse.

But I put very little down and can afford those payments and won't owe as much when buying out at the lease at the end which I plan to do.

    Exactly

I bought and paid off my truck because if I had to pay $450 a month lease I would have to live in it. (And that ain't happening)

I bought vs rent. It was paid for 3 years ago but I still put my payment into a dedicated car fund. Hopefully next time I'll pay cash or very small loan. I just can't see the long term financial advantage of a lease especially on a vehicle that has a reputation of holding its value.

I bought my 17' TRD OR because I plan on keeping this truck for a long time and I have already done 13,000km in less then 3 months of ownership (about 8,000miles) which is more then half of the lease mileage allowed per year (up here at least) haha

I leased because the interest rate on leasing was much less than financing.
I know our Canadian rates are different that the American rates but it was a huge difference.

I also chose to lease because it was the first year of a new design. I took it over a somewhat short lease term (39 months) and have a decent mileage allowance that I'll never go over.

If you lease the right car it does not matter. I leased a 16 4Runner my payment was 420 for 36 months 0 down. Sales price was 36k drove that car a year and traded it for 35.5k and my Payoff was 31.8k that means I got back 3.7 k in equity. THAT CAR COST ME $500 to drive for a year BRA. Leasing is not for everybody but it doesn't mean you don't have anything to show for it. Plus if you're financing like most people, you don't own anything until that last payment is made.

I leased. Cheaper at first, when I get the value down I can take out a loan and buy it out that way I'm not stuck with a $600-700 payment the entire time.

I bought it because I tend to hold on to my vehicles. Previously, I had a POS Ranger since 2005 that finally took a dump on me. Ive always wanted a Tacoma so I figured, If i can kept a POS Ranger for 12 years, im sure ill keep my Tacoma for 15+

Bought due to the crazy resale value, and leasing can get expensive @ 30k miles/yr.

just like my last Tacoma, i am leasing again on a 2017. Pretty simple for me, i lease for 3 years top so i am fully covered with warranty, i do it at 16000km a year (lowest) so payments are lower, then at the end of the 3 years, i pay the residual then i can resale easily for 7-9g's over that residual + resale whatever mods i made. I also put the lease off my company expenses. So at the end once everything is factored in, it's almost an investment and go lease a new one again and again...Tacoma's are victim's of their success in my opinion. I always laugh at the dealership when they ask me to trade it in...

Anyone wants a 2011 Trd tastefully moded in Canadian $$$. 30% cheaper for all of our friends in the south :)
