I got push back this weekend, but I spoke with the MA Motorist Assistance center and they confirmed what we've read on 540 CMR 6.00 and even called the inspection station that didn't want to inspect me due to the lift and explained to them what they needed to do. I think the real issue is there doesn't seem to be a spreadsheet or anything for the inspection stations to refer to when comparing my height to stock. So even if they measure me they don't have anything to compare it to :goingcrazy:

This guy calls my truck a museum piece. He drives it in, takes all necessary pics inside and out. Home it up to the computer and puts a sticker on it.

Magnablow offroad series. They failed it for not having a tail pipe past the rear axle. I fought with guy, because the state regs say that the exhaust only has to go past the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Which it did. He told me I could appeal, but I knew I would lose because it was also too loud. It is now on @BananaPeelOut truck. Now I have stock exhaust that I chopped just after the rear hanger.

Sifting through here I have found the following to be true.

    1. In MASS you can’t legally modify your truck in any way.

    2. You have no freedom in MASS.

    3. Come to AZ, open carry/concealed carry without a permit & drive your modified truck legally.

    Right outta the book

My trucks due for a sticker like today and i gotta put a few bulbs in it. Debating whether im gonna smile for the camera and put the exhaust with a muffler on it or keep the muffler deleted sidepipe just cause i can. Gonna send it on the window tint tho.

What does it say about the tire size for measuring wheel track? I was wondering about that when I was living up there. So if you put on wider tires, does it increase the max lift?

The wheeltrack may be increased by the use of tires and rims for a maximum total increase of four inches beyond the original manufacturer's specification. The use of spacers to increase wheeltrack is prohibited. Fractionsshall be excluded in all measurements and final calculations

So then in theory you could get wider wheels and tires and increase your wheel track, which would then allow you to increase your max lift height?

Sounds like a fairly easy solution, but no matter what y'all will have to argue with inspection places haha

Technically yes as long as you don't exceed the limits of track width widening and overall height. Never thought about it that way!

The little bit left on the next page just states that the max combined mechanical lift and tire lift shall no exceed the sum of max mechanical and increased tire size calculated for that vehicle.

It says in the inspection manual that an updated list will be periodically provided. In 10 years of doing inspections I’ve never seen anything.
