So then I should just get a rejection sticker and appeal it. That'd at least force the state inspector to admit they have no way to know if I'm legal or not. Trying a new place tmrw but if that doesn't work I'm just going to have them fail me.

Tacoma’s are usually around 4” allowable lift plus the same in tire size, which makes most lifted Tacoma’s ok unless they have a drop bracket lift. I’ve asked the question before to many inspectors and nobody has a clue. Most just go by judgement or just wont inspect anything lifted in fear they might get wrote up.

Keep trying, have them do the math, you are fine. Ira of Danvers would probs do it, as long as you got halogen lights and your tires dont stick out you should be fine, 30% tint maximum darkness of front windows. Winter street in Haverhill Ma as well, give them a try.

A little of this and a little of that
Finally got a sticker!... after a fun filled week of needing replace the passenger side hub, redoing the window tint so it is legal, swapping in the OEM wheels to completely tuck the tires back under the fenders.

Good luck to the others in MA!

I realized that highway driving on OEM sized tires with 4.56 gears is not so nice. Back to my 33"!

Anyone have any issues passing inspection with an MBRP 3" catback exhaust?

They can fail you for any exhaust that is "louder than stock"

Okay thanks, so if I was planning on installing an exhaust system should probably wait to get to get my sticker? Read through this thread and got mixed reviews about how to go about getting a passing sticker

I have a Gibson cat back on my 2.7L and had no questions with inspection.

Okay thanks, I guess I'll put one on and see how it does. Also reading things about lift heights and LEDs. LEDs are simple, but if some inspectors don't do the math on ride height, what do they expect to take out the lift?

Just do the math on your lift. Stock track x wheel base divided by 2200. This is the MAX you can lift your truck including tire lift!

this is my math for my truck. Access cab long bed.

If you got a DCLB you should have even more wiggle room

Inspection is due in November, should I hold off on installing the MBRP exhaust? Trying to see how everyone is running aftermarket exhausts without taking them off every year and still passing inspections?

Have you had issues in the past? this would be my first year with a catback system, so i'm debating waiting, but I don't want to have issues throughout the year or even next inspection. Love the sound of these exhausts but are they worth the inspection headaches?!?!

Thanks I was thinking that would be smart. Just debating putting it on now or waiting until after inspection
